Did you know that embroidery has been practised for over 2,000 years? Entire histories, beliefs, and communities have been expressed through stitch, making embroidery one of the world's oldest and most enduring art forms.

From fashion to fine art, here are some of the Cockpit makers perfecting this delicate craft.

It was a bit cooler in the garden yesterday so I managed to finish sewing my Huxley Hare. It was from a kit I bought from @sewyeah I love him x

We’re beyond excited to have him back.
Say hello to Huxley the Hare!
Meet Flower Meadow Huxley the Hare craft kit, a beautifully unique embroidery project made with 100% wool felt. Perfect if you’re looking for something a little different to stitch.
Standing 20cm tall from his fluffy tail to the tips of his ears, Huxley is covered in a gorgeous floral design, hand screen printed onto soft cream wool felt. Stitching the flowers is pure joy, it’s like colouring in, but with thread!
Isn’t he delightful?

Fabulous (as ever) craft workshop at the V&A thanks @sewyeah Christine and Helen (?) for helping me after decades since I threaded a needle. You’ll notice the step by step pics stopped as the pressure mounted! @vamuseum

Really enjoyed my Schiaparelli inspired workshop today at the V&A with Christine @sewyeah. Was going to turn it into a brooch but it’s massive so having a rethink 😊
