Bronco Nation, help us welcome Coach Lyric Nason! 💙

Coach Lyric joins the Fayetteville State Football program as our Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach.

A recent graduate of Virginia State University, Coach Lyric previously served as the Director of On-Campus Recruitment and worked closely with the football program in the weight room. Her passion for developing student-athletes and commitment to excellence make her a great addition to the Bronco family.

We’re excited to have you on staff and can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make.

Our oldest started 7th grade today. We took him out to eat (his feet and his appetite are growing at the same rate), went over the goals that he came up with for the year, encouraged, and loved on him and told him how proud we were of him. Cheers to a great school year, RK!

Happy Birthday to the Man with a Masterplan! Francis, I love and appreciate you. You've embraced all your roles as husband, father, coach, entrepreneur, motivator, and simply being yourself. Not forgetting who you are at your core gets very challenging when there are so many demands on your time. This post is to celebrate you being you. That is enough. That is the gift. That is what I'm celebrating...

I love you. Cheers to many many more!

TeamKoonce had the most boring 15th anniversary and we loved every minute of it. We had an entire day planned, but woke up to find our neighborhood had no electricity. We decided to just go with the flow. The flow:

1. Dropping off the kids to school and summer camp. They love when we drive together and I sit in the back seat.

2. Walking a few laps on the track together punctuated by a couple of pull-ups from Richard.

3. Conversation. Richard loves when I just listen-no input...just listening.

4. A trip to the grocery store because we always need something from the grocery store.

5. Me doing laundry and washing dishes because I talk better when I am being productive in the house...

6. Richard scrolling uninterrupted...

7. An early dinner...good food (Richard's was better and he shared!)...good company, and great conversation.

Cheers to 15 years. We have mastered going with the flow...adjusting to life's adjustments and finding fulfillment in simple companionship. Cheers to us!

This week has been teacher appreciation week. We asked the kids to write handwritten thank you notes. We love honoring the kids' teachers and a handwritten note (and picture per Sarah), is an excellent way to develop a spirit of gratitude and thankfulness. No, the kids do not like all their teachers with the same intensity, but there is always something worth being thankful for. They wrote really sincere and honest notes. Saying "thank you" goes a long way in this era of heavy scrutiny and criticism.
