Let’s save Columbus $500,000 in just 30 seconds.

We sat down with the Columbus City Council President @sg_hardin to talk about Brice Village and Ohio House Bill 536, introduced by State Rep. Latyna Humphrey. @replatynamhumphrey

The bill would change how municipal courts split operating costs tied to civil traffic ticket caseloads. If it passes, that change could save Columbus taxpayers roughly $500,000.

If that sounds like a good deal, call your state representative Angela King’s office (614) 466-9624 and tell them you support House Bill 536.

Clintonville showed up for No Kings Day ✊🏾
Neighbors, organizers, small businesses, and community came together to remind us where real power lives: with the people.
Columbus keeps proving that change doesn’t come from the top down. It’s built block by block, by all of us 🏙️💪🏾

After taking a few days to rest and reflect, saying a simple "thank you" feels so insufficient to express just how humbled and grateful we are for your support of our #GreenforGood campaign.

I recall my senior year of undergrad, engaging in a "class debate" about whether or not a woman should be eligible to serve as US President - hearing the majority of my peers express that women are "too emotional" to be in such leadership positions. I recall the many times throughout my career when people told me that "Social Workers aren't qualified" to work in government or legislative roles, despite the fact that our work (simply trying to help others) is heavily dictated by policy & legislation. I've fought hard throughout my career to re-frame both of these narratives.

I believe in my core that love, empathy, and compassion aren't deficiencies to our work as legislators... they are ASSETS. And fostering an identity for our City that is rooted in those core principles of compassion, inclusion, and love for one another will take all of us working together, listening to, and learning from one another, to achieve.

Despite our challenges, when you pause to look around it's plain to see - there is SO MUCH GOOD all around us. Good people and good organizations working tirelessly to do GREAT and EXTRAORDINARY things. And while I'm humbled and honored to be a very small part of the big work ahead of us to build a happier, healthier, and more hopeful future for our City - in truth, the future of Columbus is only this bright because YOU are the light.

Thank you, friends & neighbors, for every selfless act of service that we see, and those that go unseen. Thank you for your support and enduring commitment to not just believing in good, but BEING the good. It's a privilege to be your neighbor, and is the honor of my life to continue working alongside you as your next Columbus City Council Member.

Onward together!

#GreenforGood Thank you text reads (abbrev.) There's no way to express thanks for believing in this campaign. From the start are mission has been about 1 thing - finding, doing, celebrating, and fighting for good. We've tried to remain true to this purpose, using our campaign for good by mobilizing to protect repro freedom or collecting donations for good causes in all of our fundraising. But none of what we've accomplished would have been possible without you, believing in good too. It's the honor of my life to serve alongside you as your next Columbus City Councilmember. There's nothing we can't achieve together.
