How did 5 unique creative expressions enrich our first edition of Supper و Stories centred around the concept of Il dolce far niente - The Sweetness of Stillness?

The storytellers’ candour, creativity and honesty expanded our collective understanding of this concept. Swipe to connect with their expressions and a conceptual map that tracks how it all connects!

⚪ @Conornevin reflected on stillness through his experience as a student helpline respondent, where he learned that stillness through active listening is not only a gift to self, but also a form of care that lives outwards for our communities, loved ones and vocations.

⚪ @sha.eirah (Storyteller and Theatre Maker): illuminated how foreign the concept of stillness can feel to migrant women as they move through multiple demands, responsibilities and versions of themselves. She spoke of “Inherited Restlessness”, sharing how stillness has always felt “unproductive, uncomfortable, and unfamiliar”.

⚪ @Matteinofico (founder and Curator of @Artsbubbles ) used plants as a living metaphor for understanding embodied stillness. He also spoke of his Italian grandmother, Clara, whose way of life reminded us that Il dolce far niente has much deeper roots than a Julia Roberts movie line or cultural stereotype. It’s a dynamic and lived philosophy.

⚪ @Helennolan.pdf (Theatre Performer) shared a story about her marriage proposal: how a forgotten ring and hours stranded in a scenic landscape became a lesson in patience, and surrender. Teaching us that sweet endings are often worth the wait.

⚪ @Catgundrybeck (Commercial Photographer & Film Educator): offered a creative’s playbook for rest: exploring what it means to truly switch off and what her “five days phone-free” at Burning Man taught her about pause & presence (with her Dad’s help!).

We are so excited to share our collaborative sound work, now showing at 41st EVA International until October 25th.

This installation was made possible through the Platform Commissions programme. Huge thanks to selectors Iarlaith Ní Fheorais and Roy Claire Potter, who invited artists to respond to ideas and definitions of access.

This project has felt like a very true joint labour and we are deeply grateful to our collaborators @dagogo_hart, @rima_jpeg, @sha.eirah and our guide throughout, @listengallery for the chance to learn together and to put into action the power of the tongue.

Call Centre Sound Structure, 2025 This installation weaves together archival recordings, field sounds, and oral histories from Rima Hamid, Dagogo Hart, and Shaéirah. Set in a fictional Irish call centre, it follows three guided monologues exploring precarity, labour, and class as experienced by the migrant workforce. Each voice carries fragments of lived experience while responding to the call centre environment. Through sonic layering, the work asks: What new social formations might emerge through attentive acts of listening and speaking?

In recent weeks, Ireland has witnessed a disturbing rise in racist attacks—many targeting members of the Indian community. From a 6-year-old girl to a local taxi driver, these incidents reflect the ongoing vulnerability faced by non-white people in Ireland—especially migrants—reminding us this is not new, even if it’s becoming more visible.

Ayesha (@ay3shagram), our Swiss-Pakistani sister and long-time collaborator of the BlindianProject, has called Dublin home for the past few years. Through her work @sha.eirah —and her daily life—she’s been documenting the layered realities of immigrant life in Ireland: not just in headlines, but in memory, nuance, and refusal.

What follows is her message.
To white Irish folk.
And to fellow migrant brothers and sisters.
May we listen.
May we refuse to look away.

SO, @subhashinigoda and I are doing a thing for @sceneandheardfestivalofnewwork later this month

Kala Pan (trans. ‘Black Water”), a short play, is based on the British colonial prison of the same name, in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. It was the setting for India’s colonial government to exile criminals, political prisoners and freedom fighters who sought and fought for India’s independence.

Our story begins with two freedom fighters in one prison cell...
