Like most things, there are SO many amazing things that come out of social media. The power of connection, spread of the gospel, ability to keep up with people, etc … HOWEVER — also like most things, there is a loottt of bad that can come from it as well. Comparison, addiction to our phones, so on and so forth.

I got to a point a few months ago where I realized a lot of the things I was struggling with in my thought life were the byproduct of too much time on social media — my mind had been trained to never be able to slow. To constantly be stimulated by things that weren’t always so good.

Not everyone needs to completely jump off of social media but if you find yourself in a similar position, a social media cleanse may be a good place to start. To clear your mind and be reminded of the things right in front of you. 🫶

Blakely here! This past February I got married and the next day moved to a place where I knew basically no one. Talk about change … adjusting to marriage AND a new place is quite the double whammy.

In the midst of the past 8 months, I have simultaneously experienced the joy of marriage alongside the stretching of settling into a new place, making friends, and developing new rhythms.

As I sit here and reflect on all the high highs and very low lows of this season, the words “good things take time” ring in my head and in my heart.

We live in a world where we want things instantaneously. We want friends quickly. The type of fiends that feel like family. We want to feel comfortable at church. We want to feel like a seasoned vet.

But as painful as it can be in the moment, there’s few things more transformational than realizing in ALL seasons, GOOD THINGS TAKE TIME!

If this is striking a chord in your heart I talk more about it in this weeks ep! Link in bio to listen & hopefully encourage 🫂

What if the things you already love doing could become another place you meet with God? Another place to worship Him?

Going on a walk. Painting. Cutting your friend’s hair. Working out. Cooking. Creating. WHATEVER IT IS!!

God created you uniquely, with gifts, passions, and interests that aren’t meant to be separated from Him.

A question we’ve been thinking about lately in response to this week’s episode about having a healthy relationship w/ social media: what if Instagram didn’t exist?

Would we still want the same things? Go to the same places? Wear the same clothes? Spend our time the same way?

Social media can be such a fun place to share our lives, but we never want it to become the REASON we’re living them. 💛

today on the pod we’re honored to have @siececampbell on to talk all things having a HEALTHY relationship with social media + how to actually do it!!

from analog bags, going places without your phone, sabbath days, comparison, and so much more, Blakely and Siece talk about what it looks like to be intentional with our phones + protect our attention.

because it’s so easy to look around and compare our lives to everyone else’s… but we’re called to run the race set in front of us. 🤎

One of my favorite things about a station-style reception is the freedom it gives us to play with the seating. A mix of traditional dining tables, barstools, banquettes and lounge furniture creates layers throughout the space and gives guests the freedom to settle in, move around and experience the party in different ways. It’s functional, but it also makes the overall design so much more interesting!

how do we take our faith beyond a Sunday? into the ordinary Mondays (like today LOL) 🤪 this convo on the pod is all about bringing God into the ordinary, everyday moments of our lives - because we’ve found that’s where most of life actually happens.
