The forecast for this weekend is looking pretty spectacular with the high of 80 and low in the 60 similar to last weekend! Come out and check out CX under the SuN: Week 2 p/b Active Cycling Bike Shop + Cobble & Spoke this Sunday! Active Cycling Shop will be hosting this weekend's party and we have some libations from Cobble & Spoke. Neversecond will be out this weekend with some nutrition samples for everyone to try along with Unbroken RTR with their recovery samples! We'll have some awesome raffle prizes from fleet feet Houston, cobble & spoke, race station Houston and others awesome sponsors! We will have the course open at 8am Sunday so make sure you register before 6pm Saturday evening as it will be a PRE reg only event tomorrow! There will be no day of sign up unless it for a second race as we need to make sure everyone racing has filled out a waiver and has a number. (Danny Dutton of Equine Sports Medicine has covered ALL the Jr's first race fees so please feel free to thank you when you see him!) We will have a signup sheet at Registration for the John Martin Special which takes place only in the A race. Delay start your friends OR give yourself a head start! Pamela Ferguson of Haute Wheels Racing and one of our nameless racers will be covering all the kids prizes so be sure to bring the little ones out as we have a race for them! FYI Parents, you can run along with your kiddos too even if they can't pedal yet. We will be taking donations for both Houston Food Bank and Toys for tots these next two races so bring some non-perishable items or new unwrapped toy and help our local community out! Check out the Snack Shack for some delicious treats thanks to Cyndi's Treats and beverages! Numbers will need to be pinned on the RIGHT SIDE this weekend. Gravel World Championships 2026! What an exciting day of racing in Nannup, weather seems to be following me this year but was happy to lock in and end up with the 3rd step 🥉. The best of the best out there, was excited to ride with an Olympian, a mountain bike champion, and all the strong ladies. We were treated to a women’s only start and only encountered a few men on the course trying to ride with our groups. I have to give my most heartfelt thank you to my amazing coach @chasecollins91 I had a rough summer and had to be talked to several times as my confidence in the heat was an all time low. Bloodwork concluded there was nothing wrong but did get a stern lecture about the heat 🔥. Chase keeps a close eye on my fatigue numbers which has kept me from overtraining thankfully. If you are looking for a coach that pays attention, comments, listens, and teaches, Chase is your man! @philipshama for all things bike related but mostly for checking in on me and how my bike was running and how I was feeling. (I was feeling very nervous) I appreciate all the messages I received before and after the race ❤️. To my sweet family, I love you so much, thank you for letting me FaceTime my dog 😝. To all of our amazing sponsors @ohara_law_firm @trinityestatehomes if I’ve forgotten anyone in my excitement apologies. I have to thank the Shamettes for all the love and support they bring to the team. To my favorite training partners, I love you guys. I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited to be on the podium, I’m still emotional 🥹 about the entire trip! Be warned, there will be more spam!

Course Update Part 2: We had a productive day getting the course staked for next weekend's first race! All that’s left is to tape the course tomorrow and make a few minor tweaks to ensure everything flows smoothly before everyone starts ripping around it. A huge thanks to James Whatley, Logan M., Carl J., Annette M., Pete M., and Joey Martinez for helping stake the course today! Registration Is Open The registration page is now live! A few key details on registration and pricing: Race Numbers: Everyone will need to purchase a 2026 race number, which can be reused for the rest of the series. Adults: $25 Juniors (17 & under): Your first race for each event is FREE (thanks to Danny Dutton!) Kids (10 & under): Free Second Race Add-On: $10 for all adults and juniors that would like to participate in a second race. Hope to see you out there! We are back for Year #4! D R E A M T E A M @shamacycleswomen 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽 “teamwork makes the dream work.” Appreciation post for my entire @shamacycles race team on being so supportive & embracing from the start. @sannaonthebike thank you for your leadership and efforts to making all the magic unfold. Who knew a quick zoom meeting could be so valuable before a race?! And to @coachmeganashley for always lighting up a spark in my heart when needed most. I went out to race TEXAS STATE ROAD RACE CHAMPIONSHIPS and when my legs didn’t respond to the hill attack @ewinkler71 unleashed, it was natural instinct to fall back and work for my teammate @cjohannaperez who tucked in & blindly trusted my wheel and fought to snag 🥈 place for her category 🏆.
