ClearMat Standard is already being shaped by more than 100 volunteers and content contributors across the jiu-jitsu community.

That matters because this cannot be built from one perspective.

We’re listening to students, competitors, coaches, academy owners, parents, survivors, advocates, professionals and people with expertise that can help us build stronger systems around safety, trust and accountability.

There are a lot of viewpoints to consider, and we want to keep making room for them.

If something in this video resonates with you, comment. Share it. Send it to someone whose experience or perspective should be part of this conversation.

Then check out the ClearMat Standard app through the link in bio to see what’s already taking shape.

We’ll also be sharing more free resources for people who train, along with practical tools and resources for academy owners who want to strengthen the environments they lead.

More than 100 people are already helping build this.

Help us bring more of the community into it.

Want to contribute, collaborate or share expertise? Send us a DM.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Some bruises come from things we choose: training, competition, pushing ourselves, learning what our bodies can do.

Others come from someone taking choice, safety, and autonomy away.

That distinction has always been at the center of My Bruises Are From...

Throughout October, we’ll be sharing resources, challenging common misconceptions about domestic violence, talking about coercive control and the abuse that doesn’t always leave visible marks, and highlighting people and organizations doing meaningful work.

Because awareness matters.

But what we do with that awareness matters more.

WHY ARE WOMEN DOING JIU-JITSU? 🥋✨

Not just to learn how to fight.

Women are stepping onto the mat to become stronger, more confident, more resilient, and more connected to themselves.

Some come to learn self-defense.
Some come to get stronger.
Some come to lose weight.
Some come because they need an outlet.
Some come after a difficult chapter in their lives.
Some come because they want to compete.

And some simply want to discover what they are capable of.

But what keeps women coming back is bigger than Jiu-Jitsu.

It’s the confidence that grows every time you survive a difficult round.
It’s the courage to be uncomfortable.
It’s learning that being uncomfortable doesn’t mean you are weak.
It’s finding your strength when you thought you had none left.

Jiu-Jitsu teaches women:
🥋 You are stronger than you think.
🔥 You are capable of hard things.
💪 Your body is powerful.
🧠 Your mind is your greatest weapon.
❤️ You don’t have to do it alone.

And perhaps most importantly—

You don’t need to become someone else to be strong. You just need to discover the strength that was already inside you.

This is why women do Jiu-Jitsu.

This is why we stay.
