@blackbirthmatters 10th anniversary🤎

Thank you to all the womb keepers, womb healers, womb protectors and womb lovers for the sacred work you continue to pour into our community. 10 years is phenomenal and I wish you 10 more. Thank you for allowing me to share my offerings in your sacred spaces!

As always it’s such an honor to curate offerings with @serene.nola and @shancoa 🧡🧡I love yall.

Day 2 was a reminder that the people who pour into everyone else deserve to be poured into, too. 🤎

Movement. Stillness. Breath. Nourishment. Rest. Community.

Our bodies thanked us.
Our minds thanked us.
Our spirits thanked us.

Grateful for a space that reminded us to care for ourselves with the same tenderness we offer the families we serve.

Black births matter. And so do the people who hold them. ✨

Brandy Danced her ass off!

Walked 40 days and 40 nights felt like big mama needed a rest…. 😂😩

Please don’t sleep on the healers! This was the highlight of my weekend!

Wherever there is a chair I will be seated 🪑

Loved it!

Loved it almost made me cry 😭 perfect selection of artists for this tribute!

Overall I had a blast this weekend! Essence is cool but really it’s the ppl that curate the beautiful experiences every year! It’s our responsibility to never forget that!

When a laboring person feels afraid, stressed, unsafe, or overwhelmed, the body releases cortisol and adrenaline.
These stress hormones can interfere with oxytocin, which is the hormone responsible for causing strong, rhythmic contractions.
Less effective oxytocin = contractions may become weaker, irregular, or farther apart.
Blood flow is also redirected away from the uterus toward the muscles and heart to prepare the body for danger.
This can make cervical dilation slow down and labor become longer or stall completely.
