Another HERE/NOW at @orangeregionalgallery has come to an end, and I’m spending some time reflecting on how amazing it was to have the opportunity to exhibit alongside some of my favourite artistic people (again!!!). ⁣
⁣
Thank you to everyone who visited and supported! We have insane talent out West, and we are so lucky to have a gallery like ORG to showcase that talent annually! ⁣
⁣
See you again next year!! 💫⁣

‘Rewritten Ground’ & ‘Luminous Revolution’ OPENING NIGHT at @cowraregionalartgallery ~ 19th June, 2026⁣
⁣
My very first non-art fair style exhibition 🎉🎉 and what a cracker to start with! I have 3 whole artworks (2 made specifically for this exhibition) in ‘Rewritten Ground’ and am so honoured to be exhibiting with friends and fellow artists that I’ve worked with in the past! ⁣
⁣
Huge day for everyone, I know most of you came straight after work, took time off work and travelled hours for this opening, some from Lithgow, Parkes, Bathurst, Orange… actually crazy and I’m so incredibly grateful. Thank you 💕💕 ⁣
⁣
⁣
ABOUT THE EXHIBITIONS:
⁣
‘Rewritten Ground’ is an exhibition exploring human intervention within the landscape.⁣
⁣
‘Luminous Revolution’ is an exhibition revealing the power and nuance of colour within artistic practice.⁣
⁣
Both exhibitions are currently on display at @cowraregionalartgallery until 26 July, 2026 - so please make the time to visit Cowra and visit the gallery and support ✨regional arts✨

Shani NOTTINGHAM’s work in DOMESTIC DREAMS, Wayout Artspace 8 March – 26 April is …

Purge, 2026
Items: all ceramics, collected from thrift shops, second hand shops, tip shops, hard
rubbish, size variable.

We go through life, accumulating objects that are symbolic of this journey. Whether given to us from significant others, practical things for daily use, objects d‘art, purely decorative things of whimsy, souvenirs of places, tokens of remembrance - for a myriad of reasons, the accumulation of things accrue in our homes, a glut of stuff.

And then...

We begin to shed these things, these objects. Change of circumstance, downsizing, life events and death - these can facilitate the editing & shedding of material possessions, our collections, our effects, our belongings. We throw them away and cast them aside.

Shani NOTTINGHAM is a Bathurst based artist.

DOMESTIC DREAMS is an exhibition that explores the home as both a physical environment and a psychological landscape shaped by longing, memory, and imagination. Some of the artworks in Domestic Dreams are an invitation to consider a more political viewpoint or experience @wayout.artspace

Come down to the gallery and spend some time with artist Leanne Wicks. Have a yarn, try some stitches and find out more about the history of knitting and resistance.

KNIT TO RESIST
YES! Please knit.
You can do it.
Yes! Please purl.
Go on, give it a whirl.
For those in the know,
moss stitch is the go.
But any stitch is fine
for this domestic time.
Put down the screen
I know you’re keen
Resist life’s speed
In knitting, you’re freed
to breath and be calm.
Knitting is the best balm.

Leanne will be in the gallery from 10am – 2pm tomorrow Friday 27 March 2026.

International Women’s Day today💓

So grateful for the amazing women that have shared this space - the artists, makers, helpers and facilitators. Past and present. I was limited to 20 photos/tags and I could have found more. You know who you are - thank you for your beautiful work and presence 💓

The theme for IWD 2026 is apt :

“Give To Gain” emphasizes the power of reciprocity and support. When people, organizations, and communities give generously, opportunities and support for women increase. Giving is not a subtraction, it’s intentional multiplication. When women thrive, we all rise.

Thank you 💓

I am in the gallery this morning … a gorgeous exhibition is about to unfold 💓

… 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 💛💚

We have this fabulous landscape painting making a delightful statement in our Kendal Street window by Cowra based artist Shani Nottingham @shani.nottingham. It is a stunner 💚💛 A beautiful interpretation of our rolling hills, paddocks and pockets of Canola.

Shani is well-known for her @the_breadtag_project_ but she is also an illustrator and painter. We have 4 of her 2-dimensional works on exhibition for our current exhibition
