Box squats are a variation that helps identify and target weak spots in your form and technique.

By squatting to a box at controlled depths, you can see where strength or stability issues might be holding you back.

In this example, we added a pause at the box to eliminate momentum, forcing our members to engage their quads fully to stand up.

This will also reveal any weaknesses in the front rack position that could limit your ability to lift heavier weights.

With this setup, we can help members pinpoint exactly where they need to improve and suggest the best accessory exercises to work on.

Today, our normal programming was replaced by “Chad 1000X

This is a physically and mentally demanding challenge, completed in memory of Navy SEAL Chad Wilkinson and was created in support of mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

Taking part is about more than the workout; it’s a tribute to the resilience it takes to confront mental health challenges.

This year we encourage you to donate towards @coach_mattie_russell charity efforts and help raise awareness in particular, of mental health issues among men.

How is that some people smoke the jerk even when they have just experienced the most brutal clean you could possibly witness? A lot of the times it involves not panicking in the jerk and just accepting the dip will feel heavy as hell but if you fully commit to the drive you may surprise yourself with how much legs you have for the jerk.

Just before @paulus55 was about to attempt her 96kg jerk I just shouted ‘it will feel heavy in the dip, get the whole body tall’ and lo and behold she smoked the jerk. Not panicking and trying to press the bar will give you so many more kilos on the bar regardless of how hard the clean is… I mean swipe across to see some of the most RPE10 cleans and @shank_63 halfway to pass out paradise before hitting the jerk beautiful.

Patience and composure and as @mems_weightlifting_club would say, letting the body do the work ❤️
