Pepli is an alternative to the usual social media platforms, built purely for creative professionals, dabblers and fans, but without the algorithms.

The founder is Sharon Pierre-Louis, who is my guest on episode 151 of Creativity Found, where we talk about her break from acting, her work as an American Sign Language interpreter, and why she wanted to build the app to encourage collaboration, connection, and promotion among artists of all disciplines.

I joined this week as an ‘artist’, which is the level you need to join at to be able to post, and I have posted about Creativity Found.

It is free to join and start posting about your creative work and upcoming events, and begin connecting and collaborating with other artists of all disciplines.

In Performance, Processing and Pepli with Sharon Pierre-Louis, the latest episode of the Creativity Found podcast, Sharon talks about how building Pepli – a digital platform where creatives can collaborate, connect and share their artistic process without bottomless feeds or the pressure to please the algorithm – opened up new opportunities and brought back pure joy, deep listening, and genuine soul expression.

What if artists had a digital space built for community, not algorithms?
Tired of chasing likes, views, and endless social media algorithms just to get your creative work seen? You’re not alone.
When self-taping from home and industry strikes brought auditions to a crawl, actress Sharon Pierre-Louis (Django Unchained, Switched at Birth) realized how isolating the creative journey could feel.
Enter Pepli, a digital platform described by Sharon as a 'LinkedIn for artists, performers, and creatives'.
Unlike traditional social media networks, Pepli is designed to foster genuine connection and collaboration. So:
* No Algorithm Chasing: Features a chronological, customizable feed where users control what they see without bottomless scrolling.
* Auditions and Opportunities: Includes a centralized hub for job listings, audition posts, and casting calls.
* Peer-to-Peer Collaboration: Search for fellow creatives by discipline or region to collaborate, share process, and network in a safe environment.
If you're ready to trade algorithm fatigue for meaningful artistic community, download the Pepli app, and listen to episode 151 of the Creativity Found podcast to hear Sharon’s inspiring story!**

Sharon Pierre-Louis is the actress (Django Unchained, Switched at Birth) and American Sign Language interpreter behind Pepli, a digital platform she created as a 'LinkedIn for creatives' to help artists collaborate, book work, and build community without chasing social media algorithms.
In the latest episode of the Creativity Found podcast, Sharon joins Claire to discuss her journey through the performing arts, from church plays in her Haitian-American upbringing to Hollywood sets and Deaf theater.
Sharon shares how a sixth-grade crush initially led her to the stage, how learning ASL to communicate with her brother opened new career pathways, and how she navigated systemic barriers as a Black actress in university and Los Angeles.
We explore the therapeutic power of acting as an emotional release, the challenges of balancing motherhood, self-tapes, and industry strikes, and what happened when Sharon realized her 'joy reservoir' was running on empty.

This week's guest, actress and Pepli founder Sharon Pierre-Louis, explains why releasing raw emotion through art is essential for our mental and spiritual well-being.
Because our bodies can't distinguish between real, imagined, or scripted emotion, stepping into a safe creative container allows us to process and let go of feelings we rarely have room to express in daily life. As one of Sharon’s mentors put it, performers are 'emotional athletes' trained to navigate intense feelings without getting lost in them.
Whether you act, paint, write, or make music, your creative outlet isn't just a project, it's a vital space to cleanse the spirit and refill your reservoir of joy.
Listen to episode 151 of Creativity Found, Performance, Processing and Pepli with Sharon Pierre-Louis for more on Sharon's inspiring journey from screen acting to building a digital haven for creatives!

8 years have passed in the blink of an eye. Photographs preserve a moment, but memories preserve a lifetime. Today I remember Brady, Zero, Earl Grey and Vae, and the countless moments that made life richer. Time moves forward, but love remains. Gone from sight, never from heart. Forever missed, forever remembered. ❤️

Looking through my photography work also reminds me of friends whose paths have taken different directions. We may not see each other often, but the memories, laughter, and moments we shared remain. Photography has always been more than taking pictures. It is preserving stories, emotions, friendships, and pieces of time that can never be recreated.

Some say photography is a dying art in a world filled with technology and AI. I am not so sure. Technology may change how images are created, but it can never replace the experiences, connections, and memories behind them. That is the real art. That is what lasts. #memoriesforever #foreverinmyheart #throughmylens #photomemories #loveremains

“True Value” is a documentary that I wrote and directed, I also produced it with Brandon Golden. The film asks a fundamental question: what is the true value of a human life, and how do we measure it—especially when it comes to people with disabilities and employment?

Narrated by Oscar-winner Chris Cooper, the film blends intimate personal testimony with urgent social critique.

“True Value” also confronts darker and often unspoken realities: the growing debates around euthanasia and assisted suicide, and the harrowing truth of people with disabilities being murdered by their own caregivers—crimes frequently minimized or excused through narratives of “mercy” or “burden.” These stories expose the lethal consequences of a culture that too often devalues disabled lives.

Seven years in the making, the film explores the lived experiences of people with disabilities navigating employment, purpose, and dignity.

At its core, “True Value” reveals how systemic barriers—including unemployment, discrimination, income inequality, and restrictive government policies—continue to undermine independence and equality for disabled people.
