Fantastic morning/day touristing at Dishley Loughborough parkrun today.
It was Dishleys first birthday and was also a meet up for @withmenowpod listeners, so lots of tourists there today but the awesome volunteers did amazing with the increased number of runners.

Chatted away with Sharon for the run and was surprised to hear that she'd never ran and chatted before & then lolled at the woman who said 'well you seem pretty good at it!'🤣 Sharon, once you're settled, get that new parkrun set up and Team Bedford will definitely be coming to visit.

The parkfaff afterwards was awesome, seeing Danny's face when Sara asked if she could lick him was hilarious... He seemed to keep a wide berth after that! 😋 Not sure if I laughed more at that or when a fellow 'with me now' listener came to chat with us just as our conversation had switched to erotic embroidery! 🍆🌮🤣

Legs are feeling tired this morning after a double run on Saturday.
...
First up was Kingsbury Water parkrun. @bedworthparkrun was cancelled because of the party in the park, so I did a bit of tourism was great to catch up with some familiar faces from Bedworth.
...
My second run was the CRJ (Cherwell runners and joggers) 6 mile club race in Hornton. I pushed myself as much as possible around the very hilly route and was pleased with my time of just over 1hr.

Giving the legs a rest today and tomorrow before my next half marathon training run on Tuesday.

A parkrun on a Saturday morning really starts the weekend off well. It used to be because it meant I'd done some exercise for the weekend and could then chill out and eat a takeaway on a Saturday evening because I'd 'earnt it'
...
But I've learned that parkrun is less about just running 5km and much more about the people... I read that one reason @paulsintonhewitt set up the Bushy Time Trials was because he wanted to have a coffee and chat with his running friends. Whether that's an accurate anecdote or not, it's the main reason I go to parkrun. I love my parkrun family and spending the morning chatting, running and laughing with them is the perfect start to a weekend 😁

Today was Sharon's ( @ohboystory ) last run at Bedworth before she heads home to Ēire 😔 but a sad day can be improved with prosecco and cake 🥂🍰
Sharon, it's not quite goodbye just yet, as I'll see you in a couple if weeks at Dishley, but it's been lovely to have met you and run with you. You and the boys will all be missed at Bedworth x

Ps - one bonus... you'll never have to run up Miner's Mount ever again 🙌
