UNRULY VOICES, indeed.

Thanks everyone for coming to our launch of issue no. 7 at Shared Ecologies, New Delhi, amidst road blockades and traffic restrictions on the eve of the Delhi protests – a polyphony of voices that insist on mattering, that refuse to be ruled.

Thank you to the writers for their brilliant readings of such a diverse range of texts – philosophical, comic, dark, spooky, powerful, poignant.

We really enjoyed how your words came off the page, Suvani Suri, Aranya Padil, Maithili Bavkar, Debarati Bhattarcharya, Shilpa Nagaraj, Suzain Shabir.

Thanks for the support by Pro Helvetia New Delhi and Shared Ecologies.

This issue and event are part of `Transcontinental languaging: decolonising voice, orality, and embodied language‘, a multi-part collaborative project by Nicole Bachmann and Kamayani Sharma, supported by Pro Helvetia New Delhi, the Swiss Arts Council, as part of the 2025 Co-creation grant.

Would you like to see edition 2 ?

From 16–26 August 2026, the @goetheinstitut_newdelhi Delhi Mycelium Lab brought together designers, artists, researchers and practitioners to explore fungal mycelium as a living, responsive material for design and architecture. Through input sessions, field observations, material experiments, hands-on cultivation and an Open Studio, the lab looked at mycelium not simply as a material to be shaped, but as a collaborator - one that grows, reacts and participates in the making process.

Elemental Imprints: Bio Design Lab South Asia is initiated by Goethe-Institut South Asia in consultation with the Bio Design Lab at Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (HfG)

we’re excited to announce the next launch of DEARS issue no. 7 UNRULY VOICES
at SHARED ECOLOGIES, New Delhi
9.10.2026
5 pm - 7 pm

Shared Ecologies,
H-2, 3rd floor,
Jangpura Extension
New Delhi 110014

To celebrate the launch of DEARS issue no. 7 UNRULY VOICES, DEARS co-founder Nicole Bachmann and guest editor Kamayani Sharma announce an evening of readings by contributors, hosted by SHARED ECOLOGIES in Delhi. DEARS is a platform for writing and listening practices at the crossroads of art, poetry and experimental writing based in Switzerland.

Issue no. 7 UNRULY VOICES treats voice as a serious matter — of agency, relations, imagination, power and speculation. From the urgent to the quotidian, and from the comic to the spooky, across prose and verse, UNRULY VOICES features a strong and eclectic ensemble that allows for associations to emerge and to think about the voice and its potential to connect and disrupt in a myriad of ways.

Nicole and Kamayani welcome six contributors – Maithili Bavkar, Debarati Bhattacharya, Shilpa Nagaraj, Aranya Padil, Suzain Shabir, Suvani Suri – to share their words in their voices.

Elemental Imprints. Bio Design Lab South Asia
Delhi Lab | August 2026

A gathering of people, practices, and perspectives. ✨

The Delhi Lab of Elemental Imprints brought participants together through dialogue, experimentation, and collaboration. At its heart was mycelium, inspiring reflections on connection across people, ecologies, and knowledge systems.

Thank you to everyone who made this thoughtful and interconnected space possible.

From the opening day of both In Rhythm and Inheritors of Earth at KNMA. For Inheritors of Earth it was a gathering of many worlds – plants, works, artists and viewers sharing the same space and time. The installations began to inhabit the galleries in their own way, and it was a quiet joy to see artists standing alongside their works, and guests pausing, leaning in, listening to these plant narratives. These images are glimpses of that first evening: artworks settling into place, conversations unfolding in front of them, and the beginnings of new relations with the vegetal lives at the heart of the show. Two new exhibitions have opened at KNMA, each offering a very different way of looking at the world around us.

Inheritors of Earth, curated by Premjish Achari, draws us closer to plant life and asks us to reconsider our place within a world that has never been ours alone.

In-Rhythm, curated by Roobina Karode, Artistic Director and Chief Curator, KNMA, and Andrea Anastasio, Director of the Italian Cultural Centre, brings Bice Lazzari and Nasreen Mohamedi together for a rare encounter, where looking closely reveals unexpected connections across their practices. The exhibition is presented in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Centre, with artworks loaned from the Archive of Bice Lazzari, Rome.

Opening night marked the beginning of these exhibitions coming alive in the galleries, with artists, curators, collaborators and audiences coming together to experience them for the first time. Swipe through for a few moments from the evening, then come see what awaits you inside.

📆 On view from 9 Sep 26

Elemental Imprints: Bio Design Lab South Asia.
Open Studio | Mycelium. Growing With The Unknown.

For the Delhi edition, the lab worked with mycelium as a collaborator, bringing its own rhythms, networks, and intelligence into the process.

Here’s a glimpse into the open studio. A wonderful, warm, and engaging evening where our participants, mentors, partners, gestures, textures, scents, and ideas came together. It was a space to look closely, linger, and discover the works taking shape. ✨
