What a fantastic day at Southbank yesterday @bbbookfestival. So many visitors to the marketplace and we met both new and old customers. Thank you to all who supported, whether that was buying books, stopping by for a chat, or grabbing hugs from online friends and supporters who came out in person.

We were lucky enough to overlook the ballroom where all the children's events were happening so we saw @marvynharrison @otimabuse @annemarieauthor tolaokogwu and the dynamic entertainers who had us all jumping to the music.

We were flanked by our new friend @officialmrlisp
and a lovely young lady fantasy writer who had the most beautiful book Dream Journey but I can't find her details!

Thank you to @theselinabrown and her amazing team for their hard work in pulling off this massive event. I can't wait till next year

This really busy marketplace was filled, featuring a troves of amazing Black books, authors, and booksellers. 🌟📖

We had hundreds of phenomenal self-published Black books gracing the shelves, crafted by incredible authors like @alex_lee_davis, @sharmaymitchell, @efuacreates, with fantastic book houses like @littlemilobooks and @angelbooks2018 and so many more! ✨

I went to the @bbbookfestival the other week with @tiktok_uk

I’m not a reader at all, I used to love books but coming here made me really want to pick up a book again. I dunno about u lot banging through 10 books a month but I’d love to know what black British authors you recommend so I can start somewhere. I don’t even know what I like anymore but another thing I want to do now my daughters 18 and I’m looking at doing things for myself also reclaiming my life back after my incident is to educate myself and grow more. So any of those sort of books

London-based poet @sharmaymitchell created a gem of poetry and art with BE THE UPLIFTER.

As literary editors, we see the stories and beauty of each page and add value and extract more beauty and truth with the goal to create works that last.

While reading BE THE UPLIFTER, we experienced the art and connected with the poetic rhymes. A subtle urge said, "Let's co-create".

So, we began coloring.

The poet Sharmay didn't anticipate the coloring book that we now boast and keep close. It was an exepected use of her collection.

We know. Lol.

You'd be surprise what literary friendships can bring to the work you create. They are secret weapons in your creative/artistic/story telling arsenal.

Keep creating. Keep sharing.
