For context: our opening words on October 7, 2026. While we‘re grateful for some truthful representation, in the media and social media storm of the past week, we have very often watched our work, our message, and our event be portrayed as whatever generates clicks and works best for that particular platform’s audience. More than half the press we’ve seen omitted, for example, that this was an event also honoring Palestinian life with a clear demand to end the still ongoing genocide. Others decided to make up that the mayor was chased away or that arrests were made. Few of them took the time to click on our profile.

We are presenting our actual words because the truth is, as usual, not that simple.

We are thankful for our new followers and community members and invite everyone to follow us this week as we head to the West Bank to do protective presence.

We also invite everyone to join us again as we protest the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the ethnic cleansing and state-sanctioned settler terrorism in the West Bank. November 1st at 4pm Union Square.

I am proud of our way. Proud of my fellow @israelisforpeacenyc organizers. Proud of all who stood with us on this difficult night.

It was very hard night to face such an enormous amount of hate. We were deeply honored to host the Mayor, renowned religious leaders, and public officials as we read testimonies from October 7 survivors and hostage families, as well as Palestinians surviving the atrocities in Gaza and the West Bank.

And we called for an end to the killing. We called for peace.

I’m truly overwhelmed and appreciative of all the messages of support and love. When you face such levels of hate, you feel very vulnerable and isolated. So it means a lot. Thank you. I’ll try to get back to everyone.

Peacemaking often requires challenging your own community. It means facing the binary, rigid, tribal, intolerant, and sometimes violent reactions that come when we offer another path, one based on our shared humanity rather than narrow ideological differences.

A path that believes there will be no liberation or freedom for anyone if we don’t work together.

And that only together can we free all of us from violence and hate. Not by further decoupling our pain. By insisting the killing stops and healing and rebuilding and reconciliation and peace begin.
