A few days later, and we’re still feeling the love. 🥹💗🇵🇭🙌🏽

After taking a moment to catch our breath, we’re looking back on the magic of our 6th Annual Magkaisa 916 Filipinx American History Month Celebration & Night Market!

Maraming salamat to everyone who showed up, shared their talents, supported local businesses, volunteered their time, and helped us celebrate Filipinx history, culture, and community right here in the 916.

To our vendors, sponsors, performers, volunteers, community partners, and everyone who came through — YOU are what makes Magkaisa special.💗

Hanggang sa muli, mga kaibigan! 🇵🇭✨

“‘Waves of Reclamation’ explores the act of taking something back—stories, identity, memory, space, voice, or simply the freedom to create on your own terms.”

Saturday, Oct. 17th— the opening reception of “Waves of Reclamation” featuring 20 Filipinx artists, plus performers, and vendors all gathered at @guavahouseco in Midtown Sac. My piece “Dream Giant. Be Giant” was more than a creation I made for the SF Giants’ Artist Series, but it is my story of growing up Filipino and having big dreams in the Bay Area; the details and colors that reflect on my learning of history and heritage. A 1/1 giclée print that may never be reproduced ever again.

Best of all, I am so grateful to the Villanueva Family for their support! They will be giving my piece a home soon. Maraming Salamat to Nikki, GG, and Shawntay for having me. Love always to my fam for joining me. Shout out to @franceskagamez who has been so incredible in connecting. So blessed to be a part of this. I’m in awe of all these fellow artists and their beautiful work. I look forward to seeing more from you…

“Waves of Reclamation” runs now til 10/21. Be sure to check out and follow:

Got to show my latest piece at Waves of Reclamation this weekend at @guavahouseco ! Super grateful for the opportunity and it was nice to see some amazing people I haven’t seen/spoken to in a long time. The food was so delicious too. If you have a chance to check out the exhibit, please do! It’ll be up until October 21. Happy Filipino American History Month! Filipinos are so talented & I’m deeply proud to be part of the diaspora!
