LESSON 2. COMMUNITY 💕 Having community is so essential to my extroverted soul. It brings a sense of belonging and connection. My community doesn’t let me settle in life and always push me to do be better and be better! My community has come through when I thought I would lose my job, when I’ve moved, or just needed a listening ear. My community brings me fulfillment, laughter, and always a great time. I would not be who I am today without them. I realized I would wither away without a strong community and I know I’m an extrovert but introverts need good people too! Lesson 2: Continue to pour into a great community, it is essential for your health! God intended it that way when He created us. What’s your favorite part of a great community? P.S. 🎉 I did it!! 🎉 I not only navigated the stairs out of my building (took forever), but ya girl navigated more stairs to get into Coolidge Park. Best Feeling Ever! From bed bound to venturing out to hang with friends for the first time, this is a major milestone on my journey of healing. 💃🏾 I felt comfortable in my skin that the stares of me walking with my cane didn't bother but a tiny bit. I ate. I laughed. I loved and was loved on by my friends. Here's to crossing another major milestone! 🥂

I GOT TO SEE PRENTICE IN BROOKLYNNNNNNN!!!!! AAAAHHHHHHHHH 🤯😭😭😭 Can’t even describe how meeting @prenticepowell1906 was. I will say he is so sweet and down to earth. Saw so many levels to him tonight, more so because it was a intimate setting. One of the people I look up to in this industry. I’m not as obsessed as him but hopefully one day I will be to perfect my craft. Listen to me being nervous but overall my poem HIT! This was a moment of truth for me to really get more serious about my performance ethic. I can write my behind off but since I haven’t competed for poetry since I was a teenager I truly have lost my efforts in performing. Watching @heymikerosen & prentice really showed me I’m not doing enough. I will say I’m grateful for them both telling me they enjoyed my piece and that we all make mistakes and to keep at it. @iamlukeolivier was a AMAZING host and artist as well & he also came through with words of encouragement. I’ll post the whole poem soon (AFTER I PERFORM THIS PROPERLY) In the meantime… hugs and kisses to the people behind the scenes of Spoken word & Chill. I had a BLASTTTT
