“the Kore of our womanhood: Persephone’s Story” 🥀

i can’t believe our rehearsal process has come to an end. i am so grateful to have been granted this opportunity and work with this amazing group. i have been developing this specific piece for just over a year, been applying since 2024, and dreamt of choreographing for a Lossein Playhouse Production since my first month at ECU. here is a little accumulation of my favorite videos from choreography labs, my applications, and rehearsals to give insight on this process. happy night one of tech week!!! 🖤

thank you to my mentor for this project @jessinamst for all your guidance and my choreographic teacher @johndadixon for all your wisdom🤍

“Moments”
Fleeting and delicate, are the pieces of time we hold close, wishing they could last forever. They are the laughter that lingers in the air, the warmth of an embrace, and the quiet glances shared when words aren’t enough. These moments become our long-lost treasures, etched in our hearts as memories we wish could stand still. But time moves on, leaving us with the bittersweet beauty of what once was a reminder to cherish the now, to live fully in each breath,
and to hold tightly to the people and experiences that make life meaningful.

In the Midst of Becoming

“Maybe the journey isn’t about becoming anything.
Maybe it’s about unbecoming everything that isn’t really you, so that you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.”
-Paulo Coelho
Its crazy how fast time flies, I feel like I was just a freshman understudying my first senior choreography project, absolutely scared to death and now I’ve completed my own. It’s such a bittersweet feeling knowing I’ve finished my last choreography project here at ECU and I wouldn’t trade my cast for the world. I was truly so lucky to have each one of these incredible dancers in the room! Thank you for being so diligent and for making such a personal concept your own as well as working through all of my crazy ideas. I love you all so so much and now you have bragging rights for being the first cast to make me cry watching y’all dance! I hope this little journey we went on together helped each of you in some way find your path💚
