This evening, I’ll be joining the @shecodeafrica community for the Beyond the Code Career Development Workshop to facilitate a session on "Growing Beyond Technical Skills!"

As a multipotentialite, I know what it’s like to pursue interests beyond your primary career path. My journey has taught me that we don’t have to fit into one box or limit ourselves to one area of expertise. There’s so much to discover when we give ourselves permission to explore, learn and grow beyond what we already know.

I am excited to share lessons from my journey and connect with others who are exploring what career growth can look like beyond technical skills.

See you there!

🇳🇬 SHE CODE AFRICA
Nigeria

Founded in 2016, She Code Africa is a pan-African nonprofit organisation committed to closing the gender gap in technology by equipping African girls and women with digital skills, mentorship, resources and opportunities to build meaningful careers in the tech industry.

Built on the belief that talent exists everywhere but opportunity is not always equally accessible, the organisation has developed a growing community that supports women at different stages of their technology journeys, from beginners exploring digital skills to aspiring professionals seeking career advancement.

Through initiatives such as its technical training programmes, mentorship opportunities, laptop scholarships and the STEM-A-Girl initiative, She Code Africa works to reduce barriers to technology education and encourage more girls to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Its approach goes beyond training by creating supportive networks where women can learn, collaborate, access opportunities and grow into leadership roles.

According to the organisation’s official website, She Code Africa has reached more than 65,000 programme beneficiaries and scholarship recipients, trained over 7,000 women and girls through its Academy and training programmes, and built a community of more than 40,000 members across over 20 African countries. Its STEM-A-Girl initiative has also reached more than 3,500 girls across eight Nigerian cities, expanding access to STEM learning and practical experiences.

By combining digital education, community building and career development, She Code Africa contributes to a more inclusive African technology ecosystem—one in which women and girls have greater opportunities to participate, innovate and shape the continent’s digital future.

At the West African Citizens Awards 2026, She Code Africa is nominated for NGO of the Year, recognising its contribution to digital inclusion, women’s empowerment and the advancement of girls and women in technology across Africa.

I'm Just a girl with a VOICE, a DREAM, and a FUTURE full of possibilities

💜 A GIRL SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN HER DIGNITY AND HER DREAMS.

Today, we celebrate every girl her voice, her dreams, her body, and her right to a future filled with opportunities. 🌸✨

But beyond the celebration, we must confront the realities many girls face:
* Period poverty 🧻🩸
*Menstrual stigma🤐🤫
* Limited access to sexual and reproductive health education📚🧑‍🏫
*Gender-based violence, and decisions about their bodies being made without their consent. 🤼🗣️

In Nigeria, menstrual products should never be treated as luxury items. Menstruation is natural, dignity is a right, and access to accurate SRHR information is not a privilege.

Every girl deserves to stay in school during her period, understand her body without shame, access safe and accurate health information, and grow up in an environment where her voice matters.

Today, I stand for a world where girls are not merely celebrated but protected, empowered, heard, and given the resources to thrive.

🎀 Let her learn. 🎀Let her choose. 🎀 Let her speak. 🎀 Let her thrive.

When we invest in girls, we invest in the future.

2022: Team Naomi. "Talk to me about SCA Chapters."
2023: Organising Team.
2024: "Talk to me about Programs."
2025: No summit.
2026: I walked back into the She Code Africa (@shecodeafrica ) Summit with a different badge. Partner.

This year, Auuxi Technology Limited was one of the official Hiring Partners at #SCASummit26 and I believe I have experienced the She Code Africa dream. I'd explain why.

I spent the day doing on-the-spot interviews, CV reviews and talent scouting across HR, operations, customer service, finance, marketing, software engineering and cybersecurity. I met women who are ready, and some who just need one person to open a door.

That is exactly what She Code Africa did for me when I joined the community in 2021.

I joined as a volunteer running chapters. I grew into the organising team, then programs. Every role stretched me, and every role taught me how to build people, systems and community. Those lessons are the foundation Auuxi stands on today.

Hearing "So please celebrate Auuxi Technology Limited" from that stage was a full circle moment I will not forget in a hurry.

I am grateful for She Code Africa.

And I am grateful for Ada Nduka Oyom (@kolokodess), for loving me enough to believe in me, long before I knew what I was building. My baby girl for life. ♥️

Here's to 10 years of SCA, and to the next woman who walks in as a volunteer and comes back as a partner.

♥️✨

I don’t think you fully understand what 10 years means until you have to sit down and tell the story 🩷.

A few weeks ago, We spent an entire day filming our 10-year impact documentary for @shecodeafrica , and it gave me a rare opportunity to pause and really look at the journey from 2016 to 2026.

So much has changed!

What started as an idea and a small storytelling initiative in Lagos, has grown into an organisation and community that has reached thousands of African women and girls across the continent. Along the way, there have been incredible milestones, difficult seasons, unexpected opportunities, lessons we couldn’t have learned any other way, and so many people who have given their time, resources and belief to this work.

When you’re building, you’re usually too focused on what needs to happen next, to appreciate what has already happened. That is probably what made filming this so special for me.

We got to go back and tell the story properly. Not just the milestones, but the context behind them. Why we started. What we were seeing. What we were trying to change. What we got right, what we learned, and what has kept us going for 10 years!

And now I’m really excited for people to see She Code Africa through that lens.

From our little corner in Lagos, Nigeria 🇳🇬, we’ve spent the last 10 years trying to play our part in solving one of the world’s biggest gender challenges. But looking back has also made me think about what comes next.

The challenges that brought us here haven’t disappeared, and there is still so much work to do. The next decade will require us to think bigger, build differently, reach further, and continue creating opportunities for more African women and girls to participate in and shape the digital future.

So this documentary is a look back at where we’ve been, but it is also a reminder of why we’re still here and why we’re looking ahead with so much conviction.🩷
