“I’d like to thank the Academy....You only get a few chances to say that.” ✨ From the stage at the 2025 GEMA Awards: TV/Streaming - North America, Sheila Alexander (@shedalex) accepts for Oscarsland (Live Event Promo) on behalf of the team at @ABC. A labor of love. A team behind it. And a speech that thanks @jimmykimmellive for the introduction that led to meeting Ryan Gosling. 😏 Moments like this remind you why you do the work. And you never know where it might be recognized. As the 2026 GEMA Awards: General Entertainment – North America approach the second entry deadline, this is your moment to put your work forward for consideration. Showcase your work today by going to 🔗 in bio!

I am so unbelievably thankful for every single person I ever got to work with, laugh with, interview, direct, collaborate with, and who touched even a small part of this part of my journey being an associate writer/producer. I cannot believe I got to write for people like Taylor Swift and Angela Bassett and Conan O’Brien; that I got to work on @dancingwiththestars for 3 years—a show that I’ve loved since I was 9 years old; work on & write for projects ranging from connections with the Disney Parks to Hulu to Onyx Collective to the Oscars; and all the while, growing as a creative and finding my voice as an artist. I’ve worked with some of the loveliest, hardest working people in the business who have not only taught me immensely, but also became mentors and friends. The biggest shoutouts go to @oncelegends & @mscristina, who truly took me under their wings and gave me opportunities I could’ve only dreamed of. They believed in me and pushed me to be a better, smarter, more innovative writer & producer; and for their mentorship, grace, advocacy, and kindness, I am forever thankful. While I may be saying “see ya soon” to the House of Mouse, I’m sure I’ll cross paths with it again, in a new way. °❀⋆.ೃ࿔
