POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
4 years ago, I “came out” online about my alopecia.

I posed confidently in front of the camera without my wig, but behind the screen, I was still terrified of running into someone I knew without a wig on. Today, I walk around my hometown completely bald.

A few weeks ago, I had the incredible experience of flying to LA and spending a weekend with 75 other women and girls who look just like me. For the first time in my life, I was in a room full of people who looked like me. I wasn’t different. I wasn’t the bald girl. I wasn’t the standout. I was the standard.

I don’t think I realized how much I needed to experience that until I did. There is something incredibly healing about being surrounded by people who just… get it.

The most emotional part was meeting the little girls. Watching them run around happy, carefree and completely themselves felt like looking at a younger version of me. Hugging them, dancing with them and hearing them talk so confidently about beauty felt like I was holding my younger self. I wish I could tell that little girl that even though the world can be cruel, she is going to be more than okay.

I’m so grateful I got to experience this with my best friend Christina. We’ve been together since we were 2 scared college freshmen figuring out life in our little dorm room. I still remember taking our wigs off together for the first time on the count of 3! To go from being that scared to walking a runway together, taking our wigs off in a room FULL of people and feeling completely free… I’m SO proud of how far we’ve come. I love you so much and I’m so glad we got to experience something this full circle together.

And a very special shoutout to Christie, who made this entire weekend possible and has been such a bubbly light and inspiration in my life. Christine is THE reason I “came out” about my alopecia in the first place, and getting to meet such an inspiration in person was unreal.

I’m sharing this today because it’s National Bald Is Beautiful Day, and the weekend was the best reminder that beauty has absolutely nothing to do with what is (or isn’t) on your head. So live your life. It’s just hair! 👩🏼‍🦲

Hair… in this economy?

In honor of Alopecia Awareness Month, I finally feel ready to share a little more of my story. 🤍

Last month, I had the absolute honor of walking in the Baldtourage Fashion Show, and I honestly still don’t know if I have the words to explain what that experience meant to me.

It was such a huge milestone in my alopecia journey. But what really got me was seeing all of the young girls there, walking with so much confidence and owning exactly who they are. Watching them felt like looking at a version of my younger self that I wish I could have given a big hug. Because for a really long time, I carried so much embarrassment about not having hair.

When you grow up surrounded by the message that beauty looks a certain way, it’s easy to believe your confidence is tied to what is on your head. I spent years feeling like my alopecia was something I needed to hide, something that made me different, something that took away from my beauty.

But I’ve learned that you are so much more than that.
Bald is beautiful. Wigs are beautiful. Hair is beautiful. And YOU are beautiful. You are not defined by what is on your head. ✨

One of my favorite Ted Lasso quotes says, “Embarrassment is a useless emotion that keeps people small.”

So I’m choosing to stop letting embarrassment keep me small and to be unapologetically me. 🌸

I’m so grateful for the people who have loved me through every version of this journey. My family, my friends, especially my best friend Cara, who has been such an inspiration and support through this journey, and most importantly, my husband Nic. ❤️

Nic has loved me unconditionally through every insecurity, every hard day, every wig, and every moment when I struggled to see my own beauty. He has always seen me as beautiful, even when I couldn’t see it myself. I’m so lucky to have someone who reminds me that I am so much more than what I sometimes see as a flaw. ❤️

Here’s to embracing every part of who we are and never being afraid to let ourselves bloom. 🤍

Happy Alopecia Awareness Month. ✨

LOOKING BACK… ONE YEAR, ONE YES, AND A JOURNEY I NEVER COULD HAVE IMAGINED.

September is Alopecia Awareness Month, and I’m reflecting with gratitude on how far I’ve come.

In June 2025, Christie invited me to walk the runway in Los Angeles. I was hesitant and unsure if I was ready to be vulnerable and visible in my hair loss.

But I said YES.

That one yes opened me up to a world I never imagined. After the event, I made my first post without my wig—allowing myself to be seen exactly as I was. No hiding. No covering. Just me.

That moment became a turning point. From then on, I kept saying yes to hair loss and wig events, new invitations, meaningful connections, sharing my story, and stepping outside my comfort zone.

Every yes brought new experiences, friendships, memories, and people who have impacted my journey in ways they may never know.

Then came Baldtourage 2026.

Standing there, surrounded by amazing women, I realized how full circle everything had become. The woman who was once hesitant to walk that first runway was now confidently embracing her alopecia, her story, and herself.

✨ June 2025 → Baldtourage 2026

One invitation. One brave yes. One wig-free post. Countless yeses afterward.

Alopecia changed my appearance, but it also opened doors, shifted my perspective, brought incredible people into my life, and helped me discover strength I didn’t know I had.

This Alopecia Awareness Month, I’m celebrating everything I’ve gained: the people, friendships, memories, courage, confidence, community, and the woman I’m becoming.

To everyone who has been part of my journey, thank you. You’ve made this chapter more beautiful than I could have imagined.

And to anyone wondering if they’re ready:

Say YES.

You never know where that one yes might take you. ✨
