For the second year, I returned to Camp Bestival and all the family-friendly festival mashup that it produces. Aimed squarely at those who don’t want to stop going to festivals just because there are kids in the picture, it provides the head-spinning line-up of Mr Tumble and Fatboy Slim sharing the same stage, albeit twelve hours apart. The site is big enough to enable you to wander while not being too big to be scary to younger visitors and festival newbies.

Aside from Misters Tumble and Cook, the line-up this year included Bastille, Example, Billy Ocean, Fulu Miziki, Bastille and a heap more. Count Binface made appearances both in lookalike contests and in Fatboy Slim’s projections, with plenty of support for both. Much fun was had by all.

Thanks to the team at @shellwoodblake for helping me be in the right spot at the right time with the right people. 👍

I’m officially making it my mission to explore more of the UK… because places like this are just a train ride away from London 🥹⛰️ *pr trip

Thanks to @visitnorthumberland for taking me on this gorgeous foodie filled trip to a part of the UK that I’ve never explored before… we started with a hike around Carey Burns with @fellskitchen - trying some delicious food using local produce which was such a unique experience !!!

We stayed at the gorgeous @thetempus_charltonhall and I was obsessed with the little cabin with an outdoor bathtub… we also did a morning foraging with @cramlingtonforager and had a tour of a potato farm & a honey farm with @tripleafoodtours 🥔🍯🐝

Northumberland has SO much to offer from food to activities & incredible scenery… so save for your next staycation up north 💫

|ad| This might be the best way to hike in Northumberland 🍃 ⛰️

A guided walk through the Cheviot hills followed by incredible food cooked outdoors by chef and mountain leader Chris from @fellskitchen all surrounded by some of the best views in the county.

Definitely not your average hiking trip! As part of the launch of @northumberlandfoodanddrink with @visitnorthumberland we were treated to superb cuisine such a lamb with wild garlic, scallops from nearby Coquet Island and a variety of local produce expertly cooked waiting for us at the top of the climb.

Is this not the best way to hike? Definitely makes the climb worth its while 🥾

AD | Beaches that genuinely rival anywhere in the world. Skies so dark they’ll stop you in your tracks. Countryside that is, frankly, criminally underrated. Northumberland has always had it all 🥹🌌

The food and drink scene? Just as impressive, not nearly talked about enough. Until now.

Taste of Northumberland @northumberlandfoodanddrink is a brand new county-wide initiative uniting the region’s best artisan makers, award-winning farmers and brilliant independent hospitality businesses under one trusted regional mark. All celebrating the incredible food and drink grown, made and served across the county 🤝

From gourmet wild dining in the Harthope Valley with @fellskitchen to cocktails crafted with botanicals foraged from Northumberland National Park @hepple_spirits to foraging for your own produce with @cramlingtonforager or whisky tasting at England’s most northerly distillery @adgefrin , the region is packed full of gems just waiting to be experienced.

We were lucky enough to dive into all of this first-hand on a two-day press trip to celebrate Taste of Northumberland’s launch, staying at the gorgeous @thetempus_charltonhall - Northumberland’s most stylish hotel, bar and restaurant.

The trip even included an exclusive dinner showcasing the county’s finest local produce. Think @davidpark_bustonpotatoes @bamburgh_bee_co and of course Lindisfarne Oysters, served in the stunning surroundings of Charlton Hall.

Safe to say the county delivered on every level 🥃

Quite possibly the coldest thing I’ve ever done and definitely one of the most exhilarating, this dip in the Baltic as part of last week’s contrast (hot and cold) therapy-focussed Nordisk Sanse Retreat at the super cosy Kurhotel Skodsborg in Copenhagen, has indulged my inner Viking and set me up a treat for the year ahead. With a little help, of course, from retreat co-host, Rob da Bank, who besides being a DJ and Camp Bestival founder with his wife Josie, now teaches meditation and breathwork, all while remaining one of the most straightforwardly nice and un-woo-woo people you could hope to meet. Special thanks as well to the wonderful Sauna guru Tania and the rest of the spa team at the hotel. Such a convert am I to the natural high of the whole hot and cold thing, I’ve just been down to King’s Cross, where Rob and Josie’s pop up Slomo (saunas + plunge pools at different levels of frrrrreezing in Lewis Cubitt Square just beyond Dishoom) offers the perfect introduction. And I’m sneaking in one more visit before it closes on the 22nd!
