Blood Slaves by Markus Redmond
Book 1 @kensingtonbooks
Out Now

Let me preface this by saying, this book is fk BRUTAL. It’s not a feel good kinda book. It’s one that you question whether you should recommend it or not. I don’t know if I want that on my conscience. 😳

1710, In the Province of Carolina. The premise, slavery and avenging vampires. You could probably tell just from my pictures. It’s not the vampires that are the horrors in this tale. Oh no! It’s the real life horrors of our American history. I get sick every time I get a taste of this history and mortified and disgusted that it’s actually my country.

All the triggers here!! I listened to the audio because that way I wouldn’t be forced to put it down… no matter how squeamish I got. The narrator was so good with his African accent. He did a stellar job.

If you loved Burn Down Master’s House and Sinners, check this one out. But you must know going in, it’s brutal as hell. Savage AF. Book 2, Blood Rising, will be coming out 8/25 this year.

4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you @shellysbookcorner for the recommendation.

⁉️QOTD- Have you seen this? Did you pay attention to history growing up? Or are you like me, and stupefied learning later in life? Did you see Sinners?

5 years on Booksta!! In this past year alone, I’ve had so many amazing experiences and read so many incredible books. I’m so lucky to have a passion that fills my soul. My goals for this year is to: hit 25k, go to more fun events and read every second I can!
