AMSTERDAM GETS A HEARTBEAT FROM SPACE.

For 30 years, Amsterdam has danced beneath the night sky. This year, the night sky looks back.

To celebrate 30 years of Amsterdam Dance Event, artist Bob de Jong (@bobdejongart) joins forces with the Netherlands Space Agency and Terramira to turn Amsterdam into an instrument.

Radar reflectors on the rooftops of Felix Meritis and A’DAM Toren send signals back into space. Satellite observations are transformed into the electronic heartbeat of the city.

High above Amsterdam, the iconic A’DAM Toren becomes the amplifier of the city’s heartbeat.
This is BEAT OF THE CITY.

In collaboration with the Netherlands Space Agency (@nl_spaceagency) and Terramira
With A’DAM Toren, Shelter Night Gallery and Felix Meritis

We’re proud to announce the next exhibition: “REBIRTH” by Lieuwe van Gogh.

Bold, colourful and unapologetically expressive: his paintings are fast, physical and impossible to ignore. We’re bringing colour into the night. On view during club nights from September 25 until November 14.

Join us for the official opening on September 24. RSVP for free via the link in our bio.

Thank you @hetparool for the review on my first solo exhibition 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦.

This exhibition has been more personal in nature than most of my previous works. It’s extremely special to experience that also vulnerable subjects can receive such attention.

I will keep perusing to create more autobiographical works in the future and push myself to share my inner world in ways that are relatable for those living outside my skin. Or be a “misunderstood artist” 🪽

Visit the exhibition! I hope to spark intriguing thoughts and lots of kisses to everyone xxx

“A dream is a wish your heart makes.”

These are the first words Jessica Kuhn sang during her opening performance of her solo exhibition 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦.

The performance is utilizing a song from the 1950 Disney Cinderella movie and was made in collaboration with composer and sound-artist Mateusz Godlewski @m.j.godlewski. A knight in shining was turned into a music instrument that fought with itself. The buzzing sounds of the punches, metal on metal, vibrated through the crowed and later revealed the artist herself.

Thank you for an unforgettable evening!

The exhibition is on view during our club nights until 19 September ⚔️🪩

Spread the love 🤍
