Magnolia June has had a goal for the past year and she has worked relentlessly to achieve that goal! Our tiny dancer performed her new solo for the first time, got those first time jitters out of the way, and is ready to compete for Petite Miss Dance of NC this November. Working with her each week is a dream and I love the memories we are creating together 🤍🩵 She has big dreams and her focus and determination are really something I admire. She has a drive that I’ve never seen before in a dancer this young but we have a lot of fun along the way! Having the whole family together to cheer her on was so special- she has quite the fan club in us and rooting for her is easy to do. We are so proud of you sweet girl and so grateful for her village of teachers who push her, motivate her, and challenge her. Thank you!! @millerstreetdanceacademy @carolinadance15

The perfect photo to capture this boy’s dance season 💚 This is more than just a goal met. This photo represents the literal blood, sweat, and tears that he has poured into his training. The mornings at the ballet barre where he felt like his legs couldn’t do anymore, the conditioning that pushed him past what he thought he could do, the hours of perfecting his solo, the classes that challenged him, the sacrifices he made each week, the focus he maintained, and the prayers for strength and resilience. This boy puts all his faith in God. It’s always been about His timing and the process between the studio and stage. We do not find our worth in a title or award… we find our worth in what God calls us to do and we chase our dreams with a joyful heart. Even through the moments of “not yet” and even through the days of exhaustion, Shepherd stayed true to who he is- faithful, joyful, and determined. We are so proud of you Shepherd Paul! I still feel like I’m in a dream!🥹✨ Being named Junior Miss Dance of America 2027 is something I never imagined, and I am so incredibly thankful! This week was one of the most amazing experiences of my life, not just because of the title, but because of all the incredible people I met, the friendships I made, and the memories I will cherish forever! I am so thankful for all my teachers @mae.kittrell @therebalee @melissa_morette @g.morette who has helped me grow and encouraged me to believe in myself. Thank you for every lesson, every correction, every hug, every pep talk, and every bit of support along the way. To my family, thank you for always cheering me on and making sacrifices so I can do what I love. I am so honored to represent @dmanational this year, and I cannot wait to meet dancers across the country, share my love of dance, and make the most of this incredible opportunity. And congratulations to all of the amazing 2027 titleholders!!👑 I am so excited to spend this year with such kind, talented, and inspiring dancers, and I can’t wait to make memories together. Team Show 2026 is in the books and we couldn’t be prouder! Watching our kids shine their light and do what they love brings us the greatest joy 💗 We loved seeing Shepherd perform with the Ballet Company and then celebrating the entire competition team as they performed for a packed house. We are so grateful for the @millerstreetdanceacademy teachers who pour into our children each and every week. They are so influential and the love of dance that they instill each week is priceless. I would tag every single one of you but you know who you are! 😉 💗 Thank you for everything!!!!

🚀 Shared Sessions Are Changing the Game What we’ve been able to accomplish with the shared sessions has honestly exceeded even my own expectations. The progress, the focus, the energy in the room. It’s been incredible to witness. Sheperd went from one on one for weeks to joining our group training at 11 AM and then finishes with a focused 30 minute one on one session with me. That extra time allows us to dial in the details, target specific areas of growth, and reinforce the technique we’re building in the group. In just two weeks the development has been impeccable. There is a moment in the wings that no one in the audience ever sees. The lights are warm. The stage manager whispers. The music is about to begin. And there they stand — ribbons secured, costumes set, eyes focused but carrying that unmistakable current of adrenaline. I step in close. Adjust a strap. Offer a steady look. This is the moment. The last breath before they step into the light. The last words they will hear before the curtain rises. And they choose to look at me. It is never lost on me how sacred that trust is. Out of everyone in their world — parents, friends, teachers, mentors — I am the last voice in their ear. The one who gets to say, “You are ready.” The one who reminds them to ground their breath. The one who knows the hours behind the strength — the corrections, the repetitions, the mental battles, the growth no one else saw. Watching them in the wings is watching transformation in real time. You see the discipline. You see the ownership. You see the quiet courage that has been built class after class. That step onto the stage is bigger than a performance. It’s learning to steady yourself under pressure. It’s trusting your preparation. It’s choosing to walk forward even when your heart is racing. And I get to witness it from inches away. I will never take for granted the privilege of being their steady presence in that breath before the music starts. Of being trusted with their nerves, their ambition, their dreams — even if just for a whisper of a second. The audience sees the performance. I see the becoming. And to my students — thank you. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for allowing me to stand beside you in one of the most vulnerable, powerful moments of your journey.
