Standing on the 17th tee at Boise Ranch with the leaves finally turning and the mountains glowing in the background. When you need to find the short grass on the closing stretch, leave the big stick in the bag and pull mini driver.

Smooth tempo, a little bleeder bunt-cut, right down the center. There are maybe 3 or 4 weeks a year where the weather and the turf line up like this before winter hits.

Does fall golf beat peak summer for you, or do you hate losing balls in the leaves?

One of match play golf’s worst gut-punches.

You stick a solid lag putt or recovery chip inside your match’s ball, walk up to the green, mark your ball, and think you’re all good on the hole. Then he steps up from behind your coin, rolls in a long-distance dagger for birdie, and renders your entire putt completely useless before you even get to address it.

No read, no stroke, just a quiet walk of shame to scoop up your ball mark.

Has someone ever ripped your soul out on the green like this in a money match?

What happens when you ban the driver and woods from being used? 🚫🏌️‍♂️

We cracked open the vault from last winter right after the new Titleist T250 irons went into the bag. To really test them out, I played 9 holes using ONLY irons (and a putter).

Between navigating weird Idaho winter tees, firing at winter pins, and watching Greg try to feed a single, solitary pond duck with crab apples, this round had a little bit of everything.

Can we actually break par with zero woods? Hit the link in our bio to watch the full video on YouTube today at 5pm MT, and don’t forget to subscribe while you’re there! 🦅📉

Well another season in the BRMA Men’s club has come to an end! It’s a privilege to play with these characters all year, and 2026 was awesome. We did lose some great people this year sadly and unexpectedly, but their spirit lives on through the rest of us.

We got our ass kicked again for the cup…shout out to Timberstone Men’s Association, but a good time was had.

The video is of Mr. Clueless (Ivy) running out from the bar wondering where everyone went, being the last one to arrive for the team photo, in true Ivy fashion.

The tourney season is officially over, but bring on skins game season!

Filming YouTube golf is a contact sport. Shawn pokes his drive down the fairway and starts walking off the tee box, only for Kaden to hit him with an off-camera arm-bar so he doesn’t walk into the tracer frame.

Then I step up, stripe one, and immediately stroll directly in front of the camera lens—completely nuking the tracer shot. Rookie gets physically restrained; seasoned vet gets away with murder.

Almost triggered the full ginger rage on hole 13.

Are you giving this putt in match play? ⛳️👀 #Golf #MatchPlay

Shawn took match one on his home turf at Redhawk. Today, we run it back at Boise Ranch. Dropping a match on an away track stings, but losing on your home course is unacceptable. The script is flipped, we’ve got home-course advantage, and neither one of us gave an inch out there.

The full 18-hole rematch goes live today at 4:00 PM MT on the Birdie Fever YouTube channel. Tight lies, heavy banter, and a match that came down to the absolute wire.

Hit the link in my bio to jump over to YouTube and turn notifications on so you don’t miss the premiere.

The difference between a 2-handicap and scratch isn’t how many birdies you can make—it’s how you handle the closing stretch.

Through 6 holes, I was playing disciplined, controlled golf: hitting fairways, lagging putts, sitting at 1-under, and feeling completely dialed.

Then the wheels came off:

Hole 7: Loose approach, missed the mark, red on the card.
Hole 8: Missed short putt, another dropped shot.
Hole 9: Pushed tee shot, poor leave around the green, tap-in for double to walk off at +2.

When you’re chasing scratch, you can’t afford mental lapses when fatigue sets in. The ball-striking is there, but closing out rounds when the pressure builds is the final hurdle. Back to the lab.

What usually causes the wheels to fall off your round—bad tee shots or cold putting?

Day 1 of the Nampa Am at Ridgecrest GC was a pure test of mental survival.

The club had Ridgecrest tipped out, pins tucked in defensive spots, greens rolling hard, and the pace ground to an absolute crawl at 5.5 hours. The course is in great shape, and it was a sick day with sunshine 🌞, but sitting on a tee box for 12 to 15 minutes between shots is my personal kryptonite—it completely dismantles your rhythm.

The scorecard took some serious beatings: 3 double bogeys, +2 on the par 5s, and only managed to drop a single birdie (but thankful I did catch a skin for it).

A month ago, that combination of bad breaks and dead stops would have sent me into a full downward spiral toward an 85+.

The only reason the wheels stayed on was leaning hard into the mental game routines I’ve been studying. Resetting before every pre-shot routine and refusing to carry frustration onto the next box saved the round. Still in position to make a run on Day 2 and get some cash.

How do you keep your head in the game when a tournament round stretches over 5 hours?

Accidentally pulled off the cleanest can flip. What’s the most ridiculous accidental fluke you’ve ever pulled off during a round?

It’s October 1st, which means it’s quarter 4 and we’re in the last leg of the golf season (sadly 😭). It’s time to finish the season on a high note, and there’s no better way to do that than to have your @trackmangolf numbers dialed at @teebox_meridian . I went in to add some shots to bag mapping to keep it up to date with new clubs and the current distances I’m hitting it, to help me finish the season strong 💪. Check it out!

Most golfers think their biggest issue is their swing path, but it’s actually not knowing their real carry numbers, and with the ball they ACTUALLY play.

With Q4 rolling in, I headed over to The Tee Box Meridian to run through Trackman’s Bag Mapping feature. Put a new driver in the bag and tweaked a couple settings on the woods, so doing this every three months keeps the bag gapping honest.
Trackman tracks carry numbers for wedges and irons, and total distance for woods. If you do nothing else on a sim, just hitting 5 pure shots with every club to lock down your yardages will save you 3 to 4 strokes a round immediately.

My favorite feature inside the app: it lets you adjust temperature and elevation on the fly. Playing in 50-degree fall weather at altitude? It recalculates your carry distances so you aren’t flying greens or coming up short in the drink.

I’m dropping the full screenshots of my Q4 numbers on my Instagram Story today if you want to see the gaps.
