Fueling your body shouldn’t add stress and complexity to your life. In dance spaces, we’re constantly told to push harder, but rarely taught how to properly nourish ourselves through the physical and emotional demands of the craft. Chamber Creative is teaming up with registered dietitian, movement artist, and Chicago native Sherry Lin for an intentional dancer nutrition workshop designed for @the_besteez and the dance community at large! EVENT DETAILS When: Friday, Oct 30, 6-7 pm CT Where: Virtual via Google Meet Who: Open to all dancers and community movers (free for Besteez members) Cost: $7 suggested donation Registration: Tap the link in our bio to reserve your spot on the EVENTS page of our website ABOUT SHERRY LIN, MFA, RDN Sherry Lin is a registered dietitian and dancer from Chicago, IL. She provides a holistic, non-diet approach to help clients experience greater joy and fulfillment in their relationship with food. She values cultural awareness and nuance, diversity and health equity, community and radical self-care. Sherry completed her nutrition degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago and has fourteen years of experience in the nutrition field, specializing in eating disorders, gut health, and performance nutrition. She also earned a Master’s in Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Michigan. Combining her passions in dance and nutrition, Sherry founded Rhythm and Nutrition to help people fuel their bodies so they can sustain doing what they love to their highest ability. Somewhere between early-morning rehearsals, competition weekends, and back-to-back classes, energy drinks have become as common a necessity for many dancers as hairspray and TheraBands. But aside from the obvious appeal of its quick boost, is frequent caffeine consumption safe for young artists? And why have these drinks recently become so popular within the dance community? EPIIC THESIS OUT NOW. I graduate in 17 days with my MFA in Choreography, and I need your support. Please donate to my GoFundMe in my bio/description and share this with someone who believes in the work. EPIIC THESIS IS A LIVING PHILOSOPHY THAT TRANSFORMS OVER TWENTY YEARS OF STREET STYLE DIASPORIC DISCOVERY IN MOTION, BLACK IMAGINATION, AND STUBBORN ENDURANCE INTO A MULTIDISCIPLINARY PERFORMANCE PRACTICE. BIRTHED FROM KRUMP AND INSPIRED BY CINEMA, COMMUNITY, AND SPIRIT, THE WORK REFUSES THE STREET AND STAGE DIVIDE, BUILDING SPACES WHERE CHAOS, CREATION, AND STILLNESS COEXIST.
