Today’s #drawingprompt is “Self Care”, suggested by @shewolffe I’m focusing on 'emotional self-care' and will explore other aspects over the coming month.

Being aware of how we feel—naming emotions—can be a powerful first step. Regular practices like journaling, deep breathing, and mindfulness help manage stress. Expressing emotions is equally important, whether it’s through talking to trusted friends, therapists, or creative outlets. For example, @shewolffe recently knitted a scarf with the phrase ”*&!ckity *&ck” into the pattern - which scores maximum points for creative profanity.

Another key to emotional self-care is learning to set boundaries. Becoming comfortable with saying “no” without feeling the need to justify it can help cut through a lot of unnecessary noise.

My drawing buddy @mariekeoostveen is drawing along on paper with me and will share her highlights at the end of December.

If you’ve got any non-seasonal #drawingprompts for @mariekeoostveen and me, drop them in the comments,

Visual elements include a thought bubble with “Sad,” a journal labeled “F*** Off,” yarn, and a speech bubble with “No!”

I have done an old school preparatory sketch for @shewolffe ‘s #drawingprompt “Self-care”- I’ll have a go at the digital one later. Self care is a very rich topic, and will be reappearing throughout the month. #selfcare #namingemotions #settingboundaries #expression #journaling #timelapse #hazeldrawsgreatstuff ALT TXT A hand-drawn illustration titled “Emotional Self-Care.” The drawing features various elements: a woman with glasses and a speech bubble saying “NO!” under the heading “Setting Boundaries.” To the right, under “Naming Emotions,” the word “FRUSTRATED” is written in a jagged speech bubble. Below that, under “Stress Management,” there’s a notebook labeled “Journal” with arrows pointing to “meditation” and “deep breathing.” On the left, under “Expression,” bullet points list “therapy,” “talking,” and “creative outlets,” with a ball of yarn symbolizing creativity. At the bottom, the words “Emotional Self-Care” are framed in a red box, with a hand drawing the box.
