Reliving the happy memories from the world premiere of City of Bystanders at @mosaic_misaff . It was 5 days of soul nourishing cinema and deep conversations with some of the best filmmakers of our time. Met so many old friends and made new ones. Thanks to @arshadkfilms , @singhingbowl and the entire MISAFF team for their love, appreciation and hospitality.

What an incredible night getting to show A BIT OF LIGHT to a full house at MISAFF, accepting the Best Screenplay award on Ali Asgari and Shadmehr Rastin’s behalf (with a recorded thank you from Ali!) and hearing how deeply the film connected with the audience. I had no idea the evening would be so emotional for me - I got choked up a few times during the Q&A. There really is something powerful about seeing this film on a big screen and that final scene seems to get me every time. I hope more people will see it in theatres as we continue to roll it out. Thank you to everyone that came out. Special mention to Executive Producer @shilpajo, @jefishburn, Kim Stadfeld and @seanmillargta for all the support!

Thank you Arshad Khan for including A BIT OF LIGHT in the festival and the MISAFF jury for recognizing the beautiful story that Ali and Shadmehr wrote. We so appreciate it.

Some moments from the world premiere of A BIT OF LIGHT as I saw it from the red carpet to the screening to the after party.

Seeing the film on a big screen, with big sound and a beautiful audience was truly incredible and very emotional. I was already feeling so moved by the film but to have a room of over 1400 people cheering and clapping for over 16mins was another level.

So thankful to the many many people who have brought this film to life including @ali.asgari6246, @shadmehrrastinofficial, @misagh_zare14, @sadaf.asg, @forouzan_jamshidnejad, @elahe.faraazmand, @milad.khosravi.b, @salaud_morisset, and many more. Mille Grazie to @labiennale for launching this film into the world like this.

Can’t wait to bring the film to Canada and celebrate with audiences there as well!

It was my birthday yesterday.

I initially thought I’d have everyone over to watch the FIFA World Cup Final. But at the last minute, I decided to do what I actually wanted to do: play music.

I hit up my guy @koachkore, he booked and treated me to a rehearsal space, and that morning I sent out a few invites.

Just a drum kit, a piano, a few guitars… and whoever felt like jumping in.

At one point, @nandinichandarana’s son Armaan sat down at the piano and completely stole the show. And then my guy Dexters daughter Mina jumped on the drums and rocked out. Others grabbed a mic and started singing. We laughed through missed chords, found the rhythm, lost it again, and somehow every song felt exactly right.

It reminded me that music has this incredible way of bringing people together, regardless of age, background, or ability. And it also reminded me that you never really know what someone might be carrying. Sometimes all people need is a safe space to make some noise, let loose, and just play.

I have a feeling this won’t be the last birthday jam.

Thanks to everyone who came, sang, played, clapped along, or simply hung out.

Video 1 - Free Fallin’ (check out my guy Dex on background vocals, beautiful falsetto 😂)

Video 2 - With the Beliebers (@lilbieber, we tried)

SMASH: Afterglow was everything. Co-chairs 🙏🏼 @itsliamrae & Charlotte

The energy ⚡

As I post these photos today, I can't help but think that exactly 11 years ago, on June 19, 2015, I walked into the Gardiner Museum for the very first time. #TensionsJune19 @arlenemaeeh

One ticket turned into a decade-plus of friendships, philanthropy, unforgettable parties, and eventually a seat on the Board. Celebrating 5 years in this month!

Life comes at you fast. ✨🏺

It's South Asian Heritage Month, and it feels like the perfect time to throw it back to this incredible event hosted by the UK Consul General @fouzia.younis bringing together South Asian women across business, media, and entertainment. The Commonwealth Connections South Asian Entrepreneurs Exchange

I was honoured to join the panel alongside an inspiring group of women entrepreneurs as we discussed the Canada–UK connection, entrepreneurship, the unique experiences of South Asian women, and how we can create more opportunities for one another.

The intimate room was packed with South Asian stars across politics, entrepreneurship, business, media and entertainment including Minister of Small Businesses Nina Tangri and MPs of the British Government

What stood out most was the reminder that when women support women, magic happens.

Not Indian. Not Pakistani. Not Sri Lankan. Not Bangladeshi.

South Asian.

Making an impact globally.

When we focus on what connects us rather than what divides us, we build stronger businesses, stronger communities, and a stronger future for the next generation.

A special thank you to CG Younis for being a trailblazer in diplomacy and for creating spaces like this where meaningful conversations and powerful connections can flourish.

More of this, please. 💜
