Over the past month at the Ferg📍, I’ve been challenged, rewarded, and tested to push past my limits ☘️. At the New Musicals Lab, I had the privilege of workshopping Tommy Newman’s New Musical, Jenny’s Damned Ex, as well as improvising a full musical performance with help of the awesome folks at Shitzprobe ( @shitzprobe ). I also performed in the Captain’s Cabaret, singing “Let Me Be Your Star” from Smash, as a duet with Matthew Crandol. To cap it all off, I teamed up with six other company members to write an original Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) musical titled A Day at the Bay.

None of these Opportunities would’ve been possible if it weren’t for The Ferguson Center and CNU, along with Bruce Bronstein and Douglas Carpenter, who orchestrated this whole program. I can’t thank you all enough

To my castmates, the familyhood, I’ll treasure the experiences and silly memories we made together. There’s nobody I’d rather have spent my July with!

Summer 2026
Week 1: Shitzprobe

This past July, I had the incredible opportunity to join the performing company of the New Musicals Lab at the Ferguson Center for the Arts. Over the course of the month, we collaborated with several creative teams and industry professionals, workshopping and exploring the process of developing new musical theatre.

During our first week, we participated in a workshop/ masterclass with Ali Reed, Kiki Mikkelsen, and Adrien Pellerin—the brilliant team behind the improvised musical group Shitzprobe. The experience culminated in us creating and performing our own fully improvised 30-minute musical, “Two Left Feet”, for a sold-out audience!

My deepest gratitude to Bruce Bronstein, Doug Carpenter (@dougcarpentervoice), the Ferguson Center for the Arts (@fergusoncenterforthearts), and the entire Shitzprobe (@shitzprobe) team for making this opportunity possible. It was an exciting, freeing, and transformative experience that I would love to continue exploring as an art form!

🎹 Musicians: Adrien Pellerin (Piano) & Cadence Roberts (Drums)

SOOO many pictures I wanted to add but couldn’t fit!!! This experience was an absolute DREAM! I genuinely couldn’t have had a better time. Honorable mention to @katebentov @nicoletteharville and @kenziegjere who’re not pictured but were absolutely wonderful to work and hang with. Love everyone I got to work with this summer!

NML 2026 🩷

I can’t say enough how thankful I am that the New Musicals Lab exists. This program is such a wonderful opportunity to learn and bloom as an artist. I have had so much fun this past month, and have made countless new inside jokes to quote (moonshinuhs are everywhere, pah pah pah 🚬).

An enormous shoutout to all of the creative teams I had the privilege of working with, and to Bruce Bronstein @fergusoncenterforthearts and @dougcarpentervoice, I am forever grateful for your support and the work you’ve done to bring back the labs.

and of course to all my labbers I love you so much and I will miss being a door knock away from all of you 🥹

New Musical Lab’s week 1 with @shitzprobe !!! To think I grew so much in just one short week is hard to believe, but undeniably true. I just wanna go back and do it all over again and again because of how much fun I had!
