The time in Detroit would have been nothing without the people. From departure to return, this weekend was a 10... and they were on 10!

Airport shenanigans, packet pickup, The Lip Bar, dinners, lunches, race days, after parties and after parties, and all of the sisterhood. From the 1-mile to the 5K to the half marathon, everybody showed up and showed out! 🏃🏾‍♀️🙌🏾

@officialblackgirlsrun Houston and Detroit, @gamechangersrun coaches, and my fellow Houstonians, came together, made memories, cheered each other on, and had ourselves a great time! I met social media friends in person ( I forgot to take pictures). Y'all are amazing!

I may have crashed and burned the second I got home (that sleep was necessary),but it was absolutely worth it.

Until next time!

(If I did not tag you, it's because I do not have your IG.)

Had a great time with our new and former #RunHou ambassadors, friends and the Houston #running community at the marathon training kick off party at the Memorial Park Track!

Exited to be running my 10th marathon this November after almost 3 years! #marathontraining is in full swing! 😎

A few years ago, @shoedooo couldn’t run a mile.

Today, she’s a marathoner, Black Girls Run Houston run coordinator, and Aramco Houston Half Marathon ambassador — but her story isn’t really about getting faster.

It’s about finding a running community where she felt like she belonged, learning to stop treating walking like failure, and becoming the kind of runner who can help someone else believe they belong too.

We talk Black Girls Run, her first Houston Half, training for Chicago, the mental roller coaster of her first marathon, representation in running, and why she never wants to forget the fun.

And yes, there is also a pickle and Coca-Cola involved.
