Well I made it through the first half of my first #inktober… here are my takeaways so far:

• DEF start a day (or even 2 days) early, it would be SO MUCH less stressful to have more than 1 day to do the piece, film, edit, and post 🫩

• Limit each prompt to a single page composition, double page spreads are just too time consuming ⏱️

• Plan each day ahead of time but be open to pivoting if you have a better idea that day 💡

• Participating in a daily challenge like this creates community, advances your skills SO fast, and gives your journal (or in my case journals) such a fun and random collection of pieces 👌🏼

You may be wondering why I did this in 3 separate journals, it’s a long story but just know that’s another takeaway, I’ll be dedicating a journal to Inktober from here on out 😊

Journals are:

Trying something new because @shopbrushandbinding encouraged me too. 🤎 Painting on an old book page with watercolor + my MEEDEN fine liners might be my new favorite combo. I love how the words peek through and give it that perfectly imperfect vintage feel. ✍️🎨 @MEEDEN Art thank you for sending these my way!
