The music of @andyboay is a twisting and tuneful psychedelic odyssey in miniature that gives full expression to indie rock's lo-fi soundworld tendency, while existing just outside of time. Vibrant, colourful melodies on Mellotron and electric guitar give wing to a boisterous new composer-performer persona with a retrofuturist Laurie Anderson sheen. "I'm comfortable with the aspects of my personality that maybe seem a bit more showy or flamboyant," he says. "And old enough to know that I can be comfortable with the aging man, mellowing out sort of vibe." Built from loops on a Yamaha eight-track cassette recorder, a pervasive heartbeat rhythm blurs the boundaries between tracks - in fact, the A side's three tracks are really distinct parts of a single flow, and seem to open in media res: "You move on / An ocean, you've been here / You know it / But you can't recall / How you made it through''. A shipwrecked sailor's affirmation of life, maybe, or the mantra that returns the storyteller to the beginning. All the while sheets of reverb wash in and out like saltwater on sand.”

🚨JUST ANNOUNCED🚨 @hiroemusic
HIROE's architecture is built over the walls of sound created by the band’s three guitarists towering over the foundation of the huge sounding bass and powerful drumming. The larger-than-life sound of the band is forged by a carefully selected all-star line up of producers, their debut being recorded by Mario Quintero (Spotlights), mixed by Matt Bayles (Caspian, Mono, Russian Circles, Isis, Pelican) and mastered by Will Yip (Caspian, Circa Survive).

🚨JUST ANNOUNCED🚨
The Treasury is the project of Troy Hancock of Richmond, VA. Cutting his teeth initially in the Raleigh NC punk scene, Hancock relocated to Richmond in 2018 and began to focus on experimenting with synths and drum machines. Following a revelatory Richmond show supporting EBM stalwarts Kontravoid and Lunacy, Hancock solidified his new, aggressive sound, combining a love for 1990s techno, post-punk, EBM, and Synth-punk into a unique and hard-hitting whole. A true road dog who prefers to spend his time playing live and hitting shows up and down the east coast, Hancock still somehow found the time to record his debut EP, Permanent District, featuring four new songs and an updated version of his demo track “Initialized”. DKA mainstays Anticipation and Normal Bias have each contributed a remix to the release and we here at DKA are now thrilled to present the Permanent District EP, available on cassette and digital. The Treasury fits right in alongside current DKA artists such as Semantix, Normal Bias, Comfort Cure, and Silent Em. @___the_treasury___

We wouldn’t be here without you. 🫵 ❤️

Being nominated for Best Tattoo Parlor in Rochester again means more to us than we can really put into words.

Winning in 2024 and 2025 was such an incredible honor, but what we’re most grateful for isn’t the title it’s everything that has come along with it.

It’s the thousands of conversations that have happened in those 4 walls. The stories you’ve trusted us with. The milestones we’ve gotten to be a small part of. The familiar faces who keep coming back year after year. The guests who walked through our doors as strangers and somehow became genuine friends along the way.

Have Hope wouldn’t be Have Hope without you.

We are so incredibly thankful for every person who has trusted our artists, supported our events, told a friend about us, shared our work, celebrated our wins, and continued to show up for this little dream of ours.

And Rochester, thank you for giving us a community that has embraced us, supported our artists, and allowed us to grow into so much more than we ever imagined.

Whether we win again or not, seeing our name on that ballot for a third year already feels pretty special. We’re just grateful to be here, doing what we love, surrounded by people we love.

If you’d like to help us go for three years in a row, voting is officially open click the link or the link is in our bio! 🔗

From all of us at Have Hope Tattoo & Gallery thank you for being part of our story. ❤️❤️❤️
