In honor of AYA Awareness Week, we’re continuing to share stories like Shribina’s. 🎗️

At 23, she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon and liver cancer. In the midst of it all, fertility wasn’t something she had the chance to think about, but it mattered.

We were honored to support her in preserving that part of her future.

🏔️ From studying the mountains to discovering the within.

What began as years of fieldwork and conversations in the Himalayas evolved into an inner journey-one that taught me about endurance, silence, and the quiet strength of belonging. The mountains were no longer just landscapes I worked on; they became a part of my own geography-shaping how I see, feel, and live.

📗 I have been going through a pretty rough phase.
I accompanied my husband, a recent brain stroke survivor to the hospital for his ultrasound. I was low.. and terribly anxious as an hour ago I received my CA 27.29 cancer antigen results which shows a steep increase.
Sometimes life feels like a washing machine squeezing, rinsing and washing you dry…

📔Now, while I’m thinking of gloom and doom and going through the unknowns…I get a message from a dear friend Mark in Thailand- (out of the blue literally - early morning in Bangkok), he sends me this pic of my mother and I back in 2017 - I ask him what prompted him to send it to me, he said it popped up on his screen and decided to send it….

📙The photograph comforted me so so much… coz that’s my mamma , telling me she is holding my hand and I needn’t worry, just surrender to the higher powers and trust all will be well… so it’ll be… I still have to go through a CT and bone scan as ordered by my oncologist but suddenly I’m at peace, the anxiety has worn off… that’s what mammas do …. A mother who helps me from beyond , the power of love ❤️ transcending every barrier..Trust that’s all

📚Life can throw some unexpected challenges our way, and today I want to share my experience with my monthly zolodex injections. While they may come with their own struggles, I’ve learned that addressing the difficulties we face with love and grace is essential. 💖

📖The battles we encounter aren’t really battles at all; they are journeys of profound wisdom that teach us about ourselves and strengthen us in ways we never imagined. Not everyone will understand or support your journey, and that’s okay. I believe that God will show them the light in due time. For those who are supportive and bring kindness into your life, let’s embrace their care and cherish these beautiful connections. Together, we can navigate our challenges with strength and positivity.
