Honestly I do believe they are in a better place, but often times it’s not very comforting to hear. Especially from someone who hasn’t experienced a significant loss in their life yet.

The magic of a morning practice surrounded by incredible women, paired with coffee, and supported by a group that is dedicated to mental health.

Thank you to @thetherapygrp and @ryzegrindcoffeeco for making this event possible!

When my long-time friend Emmalee, one of the owners of @thetherapygrp + @shrinkchicks texted me one evening from the bath tub (if you know Em, this makes a lot of sense) and said “want to do yoga in our parking lot and have coffee after?”

I think my response was “ummm hell yes!”

& it was even better than I could have envisioned.
Old friends, new friends, strangers, all together in community.
We took time to breathe. We moved. We drank coffee. We did some partner poses. There was rest. A few tears. Strangers honking. Run clubs wanting to join.

I don’t believe we do yoga to actually get good at yoga poses— I believe we practice to get better at life off of our mats. And in a world that is FULL of distractions it is damn powerful to pause, to connect with ourselves, and to be fully present with others.

Connection, or union, was the theme for all of the classes I offered in August and this felt like the best way to close the month.

Thank you for moving on your mat + through life together.

Let’s build a community so we can be stronger, softer, and sillier than ever.

Over the past week, I found myself saving a lot of grief content; different voices, different formats, all saying something that felt true.

Some of it put words to things I couldn’t. Some of it reminded me grief doesn’t always start with words at all. Some of it just made me pause.

Sharing a few here in case they meet you where you are too.

Grief is wide. There isn’t one way to move through it.
