See what Vincent is making 🎮🐌 @side_quest_ceramics Vincent grew up on video games, and every now and then, a little bit of that world sneaks into his pots. Characters, objects, shapes — or simply stacking pieces higher and higher to see what new silhouettes appear. Then it’s back to the wheel to see what those shapes might become. Come see what Vincent has been stacking, spinning and making at: King St Ceramics Market 10:00–17:00 · Sat & Sun · 10–11 Oct See you at Project Snail Studio! 🐌

Project Snail is joining Sydney Craft Week. This year’s theme is Community — something very close to our hearts. We opened the studio in February 2020, just one month before everything changed. Since then, Snail has made it through lockdowns, ups and downs, and most importantly, grown because of the community that has grown around it. This October, we’re bringing some of those makers together for a community ceramics market — a little snapshot of the different hands, styles and stories that have grown around Snail. Meet the makers, peek at their pots — more soon 🐌 @sydneycraftweek

Buds mentioned in her local council newsletter ❕❕❕ A delight to be interviewed by @josiecavallaro who faithfully captured the spirit of my responses in this month’s Creatives In The Neighbourhood artist profile. I’m a little flabbergasted to be highlighted when I feel so smol bean and have SO much to learn about what it means to be a creative. It’s mentioned in the article but I can’t stress enough how much floristry has done for me. It changed my perspective on myself and the world - I see both through a creative lens now. Sooooo many creatives have shaped me along the way and continue to inspire me in this formative early era of my creative career. Friends I’ve known for years, too many to name (and out of fear I’ll forget to mention some) but two I did name in my interview are @jimmygnourt - full time coffee addict and creative brain over at @seekercafe and @vinny_doing_sidequests - side hustling ceramcist whose work looks like his main gig at @side_quest_ceramics (I stand on the shoulders of giants!!!) A friend once assured me, “If you make art then you’re an artist!” I plan to do and be just that, through flowers and so many other mediums, for the rest of my days. Article link in bio 🪻

SEEKER LAUNCH PARTY Now *that’s* a party. What a fitting celebration of what @seekercafe means to Cabramatta. Words are insufficient to express my gratitude to Seeker. They took me on as their resident florist when I had very little to my portfolio and was still in floristry school. I’m a little fish in a symbiotic partnership with a beloved whale in the community. Seeker doesn’t just provide gallery space for me to explore the capability of my hands, the team nurtures it and supports my growth as a florist and creative. As a new florist my potential is still unknown but Seeker gives me room and opportunity to unlock it. Seeker means so much to the wider community because it’s a third space for gathering and mixing and doing life together. It’s where I voluntarily go even when I’m not floralling for the space. Among familiar faces, while sipping on our beverages, we check in on each other’s families, work situations, the plans and dreams we have. I receive enthusiasm and support while I set up each floral installation and have made so many friends of Buds through the visibility of my work here. The launch party was buzzing because the community Seeker has created all showed up to the event in loving support. Seeker makes the locals proud to be here. And we absolutely showed it last Sunday. It was an honour to floral for the event and each piece was a love letter to give back to this more-than-a-cafe that has done so much for me. As an ode to where it first began I recreated my first ever Seeker install of stripped sunnies and green cymbidium orchid (I included a photo of the first install from October). I continued this theme for the rest of the event for cohesion and as a celebration of how far both Seeker and I have come in tandem. I was especially thrilled to see my pieces bouncing along the @blendtheory____ DJ set with the iconic Pai Lau gates in the background. I’ve peaked. After setting up the pieces for the event I got behind my own stall where so many of you showed up and bought my makes. I had the best day and am so so grateful for this community. Love, Buds 🐛
