POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I f*cking love these guys!

In 2006 I worked a comedy gig in Bumphuck, Wisconsin with @Josh. We hung out and ate meals and probably went to a mall. I don’t think I really knew him before this, even though we both lived in Chicago. It’s kind of a big city.

He told me about this softball league he played in back in Chicago, and that it was a coed theater league. Mondays and Wednesdays.
Sounded awesome, especially with my CUBS and comedy schedule. So I joined Josh’s Second City team on Mondays.

The best part was always the bullshitting and the ball-busting. I mean - don’t get me wrong - it was nice to win games or make a diving catch or needlessly slide headfirst into second when there was no throw even made, but the time spent talking to each other after the games mattered most.
And I can honestly say that now, many years after Josh and his family moved back to Iowa.

So for anyone who’s been annoyed by my words, actions and thoughts, you can thank Captain Josh!

We got together with Mike Friday night. We’re creative people who love to talk; it’s our GD job.
But when kids are around, they don’t give a rat’s ass about our stories. And since I don’t have kids, I’m told by kids that I talk a lot.
Like Ray told Jerry.

Last night was with Josh and JJ and Kevin.
Maybe it’s cuz we’re older - and maybe wiser. Or maybe it’s cuz people are leaving us in what feels like record numbers, both in death and in just doing other things with their lives.
None of us are promised tomorrow.
Some of us take on new jobs in different cities.
Some move away to start over.
Some stay right here but simply do other things.
Sometimes I regret not staying in closer touch with so many people. But other times I share a good, solid hug with a few guys who got me so f*cking high one night that I slept on the curb outside of a neighborhood bar … and then woke up in time to meet them for last call!!!!

Be well, fellas.
Give good hugs, share good laughs, tell good stories.

And just take the f*cking shuttle bus, you GD snob.

Just finished painting a 60’ mural on an 80’ wall with @mural.mania in @dtsouthbend ✨

“Such Great Heights,” a tribute to the gifts you receive and inherit from your parents and how you carry that magic as you follow your own path.

Special thanks to my wall twin @nicocathcart for being the hardest worker with the softest heart. I’m amazed by you.

This wouldn’t have come to life without our fearless leader @alex_ann_allen, our incredible volunteers and sponsors, and the talented artists I’m blessed to know @camer1sf @mister_toledo @taylordpaints @brittpaintsalot @everydayresearch 🫶

Thanks to @sprayplanet & @jerrysartarama for the paint! All spray paint on a @sherwinwilliams primed surface.

Beautiful photos by my friends and by @sidewinder3000 📸

So tonight it airs, the first episode of *The Comedy Store*, a docu-series about the most famous and life-changing comedy club of all time.

Oh if those walls could talk! But since they can’t, some of the most iconic voices can. You’ll see some of your favorite funny faces and even meet some new ones. And the stories, ohhhhhhh the stories.
You’ll laugh, you’ll cry. And all the rest.
Enjoy.

Showtime. Tonight.
Set the DVR.
I can’t wait to watch it again!!

@troyconrads - thanks for the plugs on IG about this work of art. Congrats, my friend. LAR would be tremendously proud.

After pounding some mud, shoveling dirt, getting soaked AF - beer, wings and a wheel from one of my favorite #Chicago #pizza joints had to happen.

Hey! It’s a new TBGB music video premiering on @radioonechicago, shot when people could still crawl all over each other, as they do in this mashup of dancing, rocking, and major shoe fetishing. Lots of credits in the vid, but huge ups to choreographer Tammy Mader and co-director @lincoln2k. LINK IN BIO!!

My first All Star Game!
And I celebrated by hitting a cue ball shot *double*, and then got thrown out sliding headfirst into home,
and finally, overthrew second from RF that allowed a run to score.
We lost 9-6.
I cost us at least two runs. If I wasn’t so bad at softball, maybe we would’ve won.
Maybe.
But it was still a ton of fun!
The King was there to cheer us on!
Much love to the whole league for being an awesome softball family!
Thank You!!!
