On Wednesday, June 24, Aurora Solá @sighlab and Evy Jokhova @evyjokhova will be presenting a new participatory performance: “Fortuna’s Garden” — a psychological game based on the existing parlor game Werewolf (also known as Mafia), re-imagined on the basis of botanical knowledge and the wild forces of nature. Fortuna’s Garden is a meditation on the evolutionary biology of plants and their interaction with their human counterparts. Come along to become plants.

I can’t believe it’s been a year since we gathered under the cork trees at VIVID Farms to celebrate the beginning of MEL!

What started as an idea has grown into a storefront, workshops, a community, and candles lighting homes homes across Portugal.

Thank you to everyone who joined us that evening, and a special thank you to Ana, Paulo, and the entire @vividfarmsofficial team for helping bring that first gathering to life.

Emerging from traditions shaped by Zen, Taoism, and the sixteenth-century tea ceremony, omotenashi is an intuitive practice of care delivered through cultivated attention. Non-hierarchical and non-performative, it is the culmination of imperceptible adjustments – both spatial and gestural – that render a warm hello.

Author of the pocket manifesto, Farmacy: Manifesto on the Future of Food, Aurora Solá @sighlab join us on the farm next Saturday, May 2, to host a dialogue exploring agrarian ethics and the culinary craft revival in Portugal.

In conversation with farmers and makers, Aurora explores the story which lies behind every great producer. Andy Szymanowicz from @campo.culture shares his decade-long experience as a regenerative farmer, Maria Arriaga from @ortodoxo.queijo expresses her devotion to artisanal cheese making made from raw milk from animals grazing on regenerative pastures, and Célia Rodrigues from @neptunpearllda offers her perspective on raising oysters within the protected wetlands of the Sado Estuary.

Following the Manifesto’s insurgent call for a radical shift in how we grow, source and eat, this gathering invites a return to attentiveness. Copies of Farmacy will be available on the day.
