Testing tones, layering swatches, and overthinking (just a little). The painting’s in progress, but this part? Lowkey my favorite and most irritating phase of the process lol. I can be indecisive 💭

In the Summer by Denique Nashay for Issue 007 of Mas Magazine.

“This project is meant to feel like home. How I grew up, and what I enjoyed doing as a child. There are so many moments I remember just being outside running around, laughing. The energy and magic of being a kid and having no real worries, enjoying the world, being curious of it. It’s a feeling I try to tap into when I work, because I believe a lot of creativity stems from our younger selves.”

Transparency 💭 The way my inspiration works is solely based off whatever God sends me. My faith, is a major pillar to my work. Whether it’s photography, painting, designing. I really don’t care…when an idea calls..I pick up.

This season I think is the most I’ve balanced all of the things - doing instead of doubting, and allowing myself to flow with whatever I’m called towards. It took a minute to get here but I want to show gratitude for this growth.

I used to feel like I was neglecting one part of myself when I focused on another. Like boxing up my creativity. Now? I’m sitting on the box—chilling, unbothered :)

What’s been calling to you lately—and have you answered?

I was invited to the Creative Connection @okcthunder a space built by and for creators. Gathering of visionaries, storytellers, community leaders, and cultural architects.

We’re not just creating content anymore.
We’re documenting legacy.
We’re building bridges.
We’re setting the tone for what the next decade looks like.

If you’re building something worth documenting bring a camera. Or bring me.

Tag a creative who needs to be at the next one.
