This morning in our amphitheater we were joined by a Signature Symphony string quartet! They played along as we read Wild Symphony by Dan Brown, an interactive picture book. We followed the adventures of Maestro Mouse and his companions from the animal kingdom! Guests also had the chance to visit the instrument petting zoo and get hands-on experience with different instruments.

Fusing family-friendly sounds and pithy poetry with a positive message, Wild Symphony is a magical musical experience.
A Signature Symphony string quartet will be at Discovery Lab from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM on Sunday, October 25th, to play a free-to-attend program featuring seven of Dan Brown’s poems and their accompanying musical pieces.
From the frolicking “Frogs in Bog” to spellbinding “Spiders on a Web,” this will be a wild journey indeed!

I heard the other day that the Tulsa Signature Symphony is going to be shutting down at the end of the season, and so I wanted to say thank you because I owe them so much.
I have them to thank for getting me started on my journey to play violin. My parents started taking me to their open rehearsals and concerts when I was six years old, and I would always be fascinated by the violin section. When I turned 8 years old my parents gifted my violin lessons for my birthday, and I’ve been playing ever since. It’s been ten years now of cultivating a gift I will always treasure.
As I got older I was so invested in music. I love it so much and I’ve been playing the piano and writing my own songs as well as playing violin for a while now. My sophomore year in high-school, I joined the Tulsa Youth Symphony.
It had always been my dream to play with the Signature Symphony. I wanted to give back through it, sharing the gift I love so much on the same stage that got it all started. I got to fulfill that dream through a side by side concert that Tulsa Youth Symphony did with the Signature Symphony. Still, it hurts so much that I won’t ever be an actual party of the orchestra that changed my life.
Being a singer and songwriter, I had also dreamed of entering Tulsa Sings and getting a chance to sing with my favorite orchestra…but I never have. When I heard that the Signature Symphony was shutting down I knew it would be my last chance to enter this year. I wanted to enter with this song, “Thank You for Everything” because I originally wrote it as a goodbye song for my violin teacher, Esther Fellows, when she moved to Montana last year. It seemed fitting to edit this song for the Signature Symphony, and enter in Tulsa Sings with it.
As it turns out, the audition form was closed when I went to go submit my audition. Tulsa Sings is not running their usual program this year, and I will never get a chance to sing this with them.
But they deserve a thank you. So I will share this here.
And to concertmaster Maureen O’Boyle: you never knew it, but you were what made six year old me want to learn violin, and sixteen year old me want to keep playing.

Encore.

Ooh wee, the summer is going by fast, and it’s time to prepare for the fall. Thrilled to share this fall calendar of symphonic performances, starting with the long-awaited debut of Piano Concerto No.1 this week with Greatness Michelle Cann and maestro Peter Ounjian at Colorado Music Festival, then a return to @bu_tanglewood for their annual performance of Ashé (so let it be) which gathers the entire community together in song and benediction. Much heartfelt thanks to these orchestra families for supporting my music. Spring 2027 calendar coming soon! #ashe #concertoforpiano #fanfareforuncommontimes #renaissanceconcerto #sevenoclockshout #tracingvisions #umojaanthemofunity #umojaunbound @coleman_page_publishing @comusicfestival @michelleacann #forgivemeforthetypos

Tulsa Sings! and the 2025-2026 season with @signaturesymphonyattcc is complete! It’s been a pleasure making music with my section mates this year. Thanks for all the support and camaraderie! Also, shoutout to @trumcor for these awesome Zinger mutes! The whole section just sounds so much better with all of us using these. The pitch and response is so good, we don’t have to fight the mute to sound in tune. Special thanks to @scottdirigent and @scottcoulternyc for putting together a fantastic show! I’ll see you all in July! #bachbrassartist #bachbrass #trumcorzinger #trumcormutes #tulsamusicians
