A picture-perfect October wedding at @shepherdshollowgolfclub. For Caroline and Craig, it was a joy to bring this beautiful wedding day to life last year.

When we first met the bride, she told us she wanted their wedding day to feel like it was picked up from the Deep South and set in Michigan. From that phone call, we knew this day would be special, so we got to work.

Inside and out, the venue was filled with hydrangeas and roses, with glowing, full-size lamps that made the space feel warm and cozy, and it felt like the most elegant garden party.

Guests were greeted with champagne as our live engraver, @signedbysuki, personalized luggage tags, a nod to how much travel meant to this couple. Their sweet golden retriever, Bear, made a few appearances throughout the evening, and two cakes by @sweetheatheranne were incredible. The wedding cake featured a hand-painted portrait of their pet, and the groom’s cake looked like a @delta boarding pass for our pilot groom.

Outside, guests flocked to @mammothparty‘s phone booth to leave sweet and oh-so-funny messages for the happy couple, and the inside was lined with custom, hand-drawn wallpaper by @campbellpaperco.

The night ended with a packed dance floor, courtesy of @e3detroit and lots of late-night pizza.

Prescreening of the bestseller Verity of Colleen Hoover @colleenhoover . This thriller masterpiece was display last Thursday and OMG! Was a nice job, there some things change from the book but overall i am pleased about what i saw. @annehathaway @dakotajohnson superb, all the actors. This is an amazing movie that isn't afraid of showing some spectacular goosebums parts. Thanks so much @seeyousundayevents for the invite, thanks @emaginetheatres @amazonmgmstudios and thanks to my lovely friend @emmacihuatl @mexn.thecity for being there 🫶💕

We were received with a lovely engrave glass of wine @signedbysuki love it! popcorn, wine and a reserved seat.

As I get back into the groove today after a weekend away (actually relaxing and being present if you can believe it), I am overwhelmed with gratitude. So overwhelmed that I am a bit stuck in my tracks today 🥹

I spent the afternoon going through the motions of running my business. Answering emails, confirming events, admin + operations, and calendar management.

I went to switch over to some marketing tasks, and cannot seem to get my mindset to go from my grateful, poetic ramblings to decent copywriting. So, I decided to not go against the tide, but embrace it.

Today’s post is not about sharing my class schedule, or showcasing the activations that will make your guests gasp aloud… instead, today is your reminder to pause and take it in.

I’ve been working as an artist for 13 years.
Over a decade of trying and failing.
Years and years of putting pen to paper, chalk to boards, paint on canvas.

Sometimes I am so utterly consumed by my work and so moved by the vision I have of my future, that I forget to stop and be present in the life I used to dream of!

✨ This is the life I used to dream of.
And here it is. Now.
Not when I hit 10k followers.
Not when I achieve $20k months.
Not waiting for anything outside of myself.

The dream life is here. NOW.

And if you take a moment to pause and look around, you might realize how far you have come too.

What an inspiring week at the IAMPETH Conference in Salt Lake City!

I was truly honored to be invited to speak on the Live Event Artist Panel and share insights from my journey as a professional live event artist. It was such a meaningful opportunity to connect with fellow artists and contribute to a conversation about this growing and exciting part of our industry.

Throughout the week, I explored so many new techniques through classes in Roman capitals with @huyhoangdao.pen , stone carving with Paul Herrera, linocut printmaking with @spaghetti_bolognese & @openinkstand , ornamental penmanship with @mrmgward , and Weaver Writing with @brotherbill55 . I especially loved the innovative classes and creative offerings introduced this year.

A few favorite moments included learning tin embossing with @signedbysuki & calligraphic drawing with @gallowaycalligraphy during the Round Robin and attending the magical Night of Names, where some of the world’s most talented calligraphers beautifully penned my name.

Most of all, I loved reconnecting with so many of my calligrafriends, making new connections, and spending a week surrounded by people who share such a deep appreciation for lettering and the art of the written word. I returned home inspired, creatively refreshed, and excited to incorporate everything I learned into my own work. I also picked up a gorgeous antique fountain pen and lovely new chess inspired pointed pen.
