A new chapter, with a lot of history behind it.

After 15 years living, performing and coaching professionally in the United States, I’m now bringing that experience home to Australia.

I’ve been teaching and coaching for almost as long as I was performing, and those years have shaped the way I see ballet — through both an Australian and American lens.

This space is about sharing that perspective through ballet coaching, teaching, repertoire, rehearsal direction and choreography.

My approach has always been about more than simply getting the steps right. Technique matters, but so do musicality, artistry, individuality, curiosity and understanding why we do what we do.

I’m looking forward to sharing the work, the process, and some of the knowledge and experience I’ve collected on both sides of the world.

From stepping into the unfamiliar to finding freedom within it, Gerald Arpino’s Birthday Variations and Light Rain have challenged us, inspired us and opened up a whole new way of moving.

In April we celebrated 19 years of 2ballerinas ✨

What started as a dream 19 years ago has grown into such a beautiful community, and we couldn’t be more grateful for everyone who has been part of the journey.
To every dancer who has walked through our doors over the years — thank you for your support, energy, friendship, and love for dance. Seeing so many of you grow in confidence, create lasting memories, and share your passion with us has meant the world 🤍

We also feel so incredibly lucky to have had such talented, passionate, and supportive teachers be part of 2B over the years. Their dedication, encouragement, and love for dance have helped shape the welcoming community we have today.

✨TEACHER SPOTLIGHT✨

Next up on our teacher spotlight is the incredible @sihoyin ! We are so lucky to have Victor and his amazing energy as part of our faculty 🫶🏼

2B:Tell us a little about yourself?
V: I was born in Hong Kong and adopted by my lovely Australian parents at 5 weeks! I have three other siblings who were also adopted whom I love dearly who are supported by the NDIS.

2B: You had such a glorious career, what was a role you just loved performing?
V: I have so many. Two that I’ll always treasure was Basilio in Don Quixote and Mercurio in R + J.

2B: What advice would you give to your younger self?
V: I’d try to calm and reinforce that you are enough. That even though you may feel that the events and opportunities you feel slipped your grasp were what you wanted, they aren’t what you need. Wait and see.

2B: What do you enjoy about your life, post ballet career.
V: The perspective. That everything in life doesn’t need to be always the do or die mentality, that you are more than just “the dancer”.

2B:Five years from now I will be…
V: Alive and Well?

2B: Sweet or savoury?
V: Sweet drinks but savoury meals baby.

2B: How long have you been teaching at 2B and why do you enjoy it so much.
V: I think I’ve been teaching here at 2Ballerinas for a a year and a half?
I enjoy being given the opportunity to inspire dancers of all ages that their capabilities are beyond what they imagine! And see them reach new heights!
