1 The On-Repeat Anthem 🎧 | “Closer” by @silversummerlovers The opening track off their record ‘Die of Love’ is a driving, synth-heavy surge of post-punk energy that’s been stuck on loop in my headphones all week. My conversation with them is airing soon.

2 It’s @bandcamp Friday. One of the best ways to support your favorite independent artists is via Bandcamp. Fees are waived and the artists receive all the proceeds of the purchase.

3 The summer is flying by, but there is still time to get out and see music outside. We are headed to see @stranger80sband at Lock 9 tonight.

4 Behind the scenes - A special episode I’m working on for the end of this month!

5 A hidden gem. @funk_safari_band This is a band I first heard at the Somerville, MA porchfest. What a fun vibe they have. Their music is available on @bandcamp - check them out. Their episode is coming up in September.

Got my Sunday long run in. Running plan was 1:40 minutes.

The run went well and at one point I saw some sprinklers so I decided to take a cue from @katie_trailblazeptw and run through them. I figured 74 F and 90% + 72 dew point called for it.

Good news is the sprinklers felt awesome.

Bad news is the camera operator (me) was less than awesome. So you get a fuzzy long distance shot of me running thru a sprinkler you can barely see.

I didn’t even check it until I got home because I KNEW it was perfect. Lol.

Enjoy??

5 Questions with Silver Summer on new album Die of Love releasing June 20 at The Ellerbe Room
“…I love dancing, and I love creating music that makes people want to dance. Getting a crowd to dance is deceptively difficult, and when the dance floor gets hopping, it’s otherworldly…”

Our Roomba Pickles got an advanced copy of @silversummerlovers’ debut album DIE OF LOVE and says that it sucks! Ch’yeah! Right! Pretty rich coming from a vacuum cleaner!

All jokes aside, we’ll be releasing DIE OF LOVE at THE SUMMER BALL 2026 at @theivymankato on June 20! The theme is GLITZ! GLITTER! GLAMOUR!: A SILVER SCREEN AFFAIR! It’s an homage to the dramatic and over-the-top essence of Old Hollywood and its inspiration on the album. Maybe that’s why the robot didn’t like it—the drama was too much!!

@mathirr designed the album artwork and it’s just beautiful! @catstarprincess designed The Summer Ball flyer based on a @bailey_jburg photo from last year’s show. We can’t wait for the photo ops at THE SUMMER BALL 2026!
