Congratulations Claire Nally @tinyhippo1979 with the publication of this article, and thanks for the lovely mention of the podcast and citation of the book chapter we wrote about @salena.godden’s Mrs Death Misses Death!

The article is open access so available for anyone to read. We’ll share the link to the article in the comments but Insta is notoriously bad with this, so you might just want to do a quick Google!

Interested in learning more about Prof Claire Nally and her work? Listen to the episode we recorded with her, wherever you get your podcasts!

Discovered, this morning, that @simon.bacon.90’s THE PALGRAVE HANDBOOK OF THE VAMPIRE, to which I contributed the chapter ‘Vampires of the Ancient World,’ won the Lord Ruthven Assembly Award 2024 for best non-fiction. Congratulations to all involved in this incredible work of scholarship; I’m delighted to be a part of it!

I am so excited about the cover reveal for this one – it includes my chapter on #sylviaplath and her use of the lunar gothic.

It’s the first published piece I’ve done on Plath and the #Gothic but certainly not the last!

Thank you @simon.bacon.90 and @elanagomel

So proud to share the cover for Aliens co-edited with @simon.bacon.90. Do you know why #aliens are the most popular subject in #sciencefiction ? Are you aware that aliens are a #global phenomenon? Are you familiar with all the different kinds of #alienabduction ? Our amazing contributors have answers to all of your questions,

Alice Through the Looking-Glass: A Companion is out!

It has been my immense privilege to edit this volume with @frankendodo for @peterlangpublishing in the course of almost two years. Our 42 (of course!) contributors include household names as well as new voices, and each and every one of them has been absolutely brilliant from beginning to end. Words cannot express how grateful I am for their trust, patience, and enthusiasm.

Of course, whatever contribution I made to this volume I owe to @frankendodo, my co-editor, colleague of over a decade, partner in crime, and friend. She’s everything academics should aspire to be, and a true Renaissance woman (if you know her, you know what I mean). I cannot wait to get started on our next collaboration, as my only true strategy in life is just to say ‘yes’ to whatever Fran wants me to do.

Our idea was to shed a new light on Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There through a varied, multidisciplinary approach. I think that we have achieved that goal and more, and I do believe that you will be surprised by the array of fields that are touched in this Companion #book.

You can now order Alice Through the Looking-Glass: A Companion from @peterlangpublishing, @barnesandnoble, @waterstones, as well as your usual book shop or library, both in the electronic and paper versions.

She's here, and she's beautiful! 🖤

Can't wait until I finally have time to read from cover to cover! Congrats to everyone involved, and a huge thank you to our fearless editors Simon and Katarzyna.

My contribution explores Death as the dissected female cadaver in The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016), drawing on anatomical art and history to analyse the relationship between Jane Doe, the anatomists, and the audience as an act of prosection that comments on, and refuses, the cultural erasure of indelible trauma recorded on the dead feminine body.

Death in the 21st Century: A Companion, now available from Peter Lang [https://www.peterlang.com/document/1323178].

Sometimes book mail includes stuff I've written! My wonderful podcast partner-in-crime @bethanmichaelfox and I wrote a chapter on the personification of death as a black woman in Mrs Death Misses Death written by @salena.godden

Can't wait to read the rest of this volume!
