WE’RE GOING TO CNATS!!

Great first meet back in a year post appendix set all time PRs and comp PRs on everything thanks to @simon100kg !

Went 8/9
1st Squat ⚪️⚪️⚪️ 220kg/485lbs
2nd Squat ⚪️⚪️⚪️ 237.5kg/523lbs PR Tie
3rd Squat ⚪️⚪️⚪️ 247.5kg/545lbs ATPR Comp PR +25kg

Had great squat day didn’t expect much but there was a lot of meat on the bone and just kept taking leaps to new weights 600 soon!

1st Bench ⚪️⚪️⚪️122.5kg/270lbs
2nd Bench ⚪️⚪️🔴130kg/286lb
3rd Bench ⚪️🔴⚪️135kg/297lb Comp PR +15kg

Was just trying to get on the board and qualify for CNATS w/ a decent bench so just chipped away at it, although we had a lot more in the tank. Might bench PR this week to see what we got on the top end

1st Deadlift ⚪️⚪️⚪️270kg/595lb Qualified for CNATS
2nd Deadlift ⚪️⚪️⚪️295kg/650lb Comp PR +15kg
3rd Deadlift 🔴🔴🔴 317.5/700lb (a bit ambitious/YOLO pull)

Well I thought I had it body felt good, but I reached too high and sadly didn’t complete it. Thought I was much lower in the final pull than I was with how my back was rounded and kinda gave up thinking I had a long way to go till the knee, didn’t realize I was already at the knee. Probably could have fought it out for at least a gym PR but hey 700 soon!

Can’t thank everyone who came out to support enough from the @olympus365lkn crew and the @cltliftersclub for all coming out to support @mattlift_circles and I we all had a great time and again can’t thank y’all enough. Couldn’t have done it without y’all!

First things first, a huge thank you to all of those who supported me leading up to and through this meet. Thank you to @cltliftersclub for the constant support and to @simon100kg for being on point with handling. Thank you to @lee_d_wells & @olympus365lkn for helping facilitate and guide the end of my prep. Thank you to my family and all those who came to watch and support.

And, above all, the biggest thank you to @melissamillendorf. I am endlessly grateful for you honey and your constant support (and cooking) are why I am able to do what I do ❤️

Those that are close to me or that follow my training know that this wasn't the meet I wanted. I went into this meet wanting 700 kg minimum and, based on my training, it logically should have been there. I am glad to hit PRs across the board, but this performance isn't the standard I hold myself to.

Squat was honestly feeling the best of all the lifts at first, with smooth attempts at 235 & 250 kg. I loaded 260kg for a 5kg overall PR on the 3rd, set the bar a little too low which caused it to tilt to the side and roll off my back. The dump shown in the video was unavoidable and not intentional at all, but I do apologize to the spotters. Bench was rough and primarily thrown off through an unexpected wait due to my technique/elbows. I dug deep and grinded out my 2nd to avoid the bomb-out. No hate on the judging, I need to adjust. Deads went reasonably well with a 600 comp pull, but I was cooked at that point so there wasn't any more there.

Meet nutrition & peaking can and will be cleaned up.

All in all, this motivates me more for my next meet back down at 110kg later this year. 700+ will fall. 📈📈📈
