Two years ago I spent a night on the Mutiny set at Pinewood Studios — a proper night shoot, cold air, generators humming, watching the crew film the truck stunt for one of the film's pivotal scenes. As a James Bond fan, just being on that lot was its own kind of thrill.

Later that night I interviewed fellow German Simon Kluth in his trailer. His first action film, first international production — "and then on this scale," as he put it. He told me he still doesn't quite know how he landed the role, just that he got cast. What I loved was his excitement about the location itself: a lot of the films he loves were shot at Pinewood, and being there felt genuinely exciting to him — something we clearly had in common.

I'd hoped to also sit down with Statham himself, but the truck stunt took hours to pull off and the timing fell apart — we ended up with a brief chat instead of an interview.

Mutiny is in theatres now, and my review just ran nationally via dpa. Go see it.

Congrats, Simon — you really nailed it. I hope this is the first of many international roles. A Bond villain, maybe? @amazonmgmstudios, you watching?

Mutiny Premiere - because I got to be part of a Jason Statham movie 🤩
Have you seen Mutiny yet? ⚓️🪝Jason in small, dark, confined spaces on a vengeance mission is not somebody you want to mess with. Get your tickets now! 🍿

Jason is arguably one of the greatest action artists of all time - literally his own genre! - and a long time screen hero so it’s been a true highlight to contribute a small part to the universe, and well, stand next to the mighty man himself.

Maybe my next iteration we’ll get to have my own action face-off 💪 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also calling out that being in a Jean Francois Richet film is also a dream (Mesrine, if you ever saw it back in the day, is gold 🌟) and meeting other very lovely actors has been rather heartwarming

Plus - I legitimately love the drama created by the score in this movie that adds another atmospheric layer to the intensity of scenes!

„Mein Vater, Bin Laden und Ich“ – am 04. und 05. September im @tud_berlin .
Eine szenisch-konzertante Lesung mit Video nach einem Text von @rafaelossami von und mit @ensemble_sport_ ( @simon_kluth , @_susannebrendel & Rafael Ossami Saidy) und Genet Zegay @genet.zegay

04.+05.09.2026 // 20:00
