Pumpkin spice syrup recipe courtesy of @simplegoodnesssisters and their excellent book “Drink Your Garden”

I’ve been using it like crazy as a sub for the sugar cube in some American Trilogies, but I have other ideas with it coming soon.

Bethel FFA celebrated WA Taste Day with special guest Miss Evans! Everyone was so excited to learn about Washington Ag and try different locally grown products! Next meeting is October 22nd. Go Bison 🦬

When @oakandfigfloral wanted to do an over the top renaissance style shoot in @simplegoodnesssisters barn, I literally flew across the country and shot this on a cold, dark, rainy day with a massive light diffuser I had to rent at the last minute because it got so dark. Barns have the best light for this sort of thing, but it gets tricky when it decides to rain in Washington state! All medium format film. Beautiful drinks by @belindalkelly

Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back on the menu?! I refuse. Seattle summers are already ephemerally short and I’m not letting it go that easily 🌿

I haven’t even shared my summer feature in @pccmarkets ’ Sound Consumer publication yet (written by @sheryl_wiser — link in comments!). The story is all about using what’s growing in your garden to build delicious beverages, no matter the proof.

Take a look at what I and other experts in the field (looking at you, @simplegoodnesssisters 👀) have to say about it while sitting in your garden soaking in the last vestiges of summer, then pluck a few herbs and fruits that are still thriving there and mix yourself a drink!

P.S. The sustainable mixology featured in this article has been sneaking into some fun hospitality collabs I’ve been cooking up all summer... more on those soon 👀

I 🫶🏻 these people and these places. We spend more time together than most and the stories we tell are unmatched. #ruralamerica

One of the most surprising ingredients in a summer drink? Beets.
🌱
They create a gorgeous magenta color, a naturally sweet, earthy flavor, and pair beautifully with fresh herbs.

Don’t overlook edible flowers.
🌼
They’re beautiful, useful, and can even help support a healthier garden. This week’s we’re talking about easy-to-grow favorites like nasturtiums, marigolds, violas and why every garden deserves a few.

Positive thinking my way to New Orleans & @tales_of_the_cocktail - meeting good people along the way. Smiling at dogs. Bathing in childhood nostalgia about the NY I saw sitting cross legged in my living room. The blazer (see pt 1) is stashed in my bag.

That last photo is AI cat fishing, fyi/ my face has lines, my eyes have bags, my skin isn’t so brown, and that’s cool, too.

🎥 That’s a wrap on Season 3 of “The Nosh with Rachel Belle” on @cascadepbs! It’s a PNW food & drink storytelling show — episodes are tasty little 8.5 minute bites!

👀 Watch all 3 seasons at cascadepbs.org 👀 YouTube 👀 On Alaska Airlines in-flight entertainment 👀 Link in bio! 👀

🍰 A LOT of cake was eaten, many teeth were stained electric purple, big poofs of hair were stuffed into lunch lady hairnets & so many stories were told!
IT WAS FUN…and we hope you liked it, too!

⚡️ We’re already out & about shooting Season 4! ⚡️

I don’t recommend trying a sip of ube extract in the middle of a TV shoot — THE PURPLE WOULD NOT COME OFF! I had to violently scrub my teeth with vodka for 20 minutes!
