Last Thursday’s A World of OppHERtunities Networking Soiree was nothing short of impactful. Personally knowing Mrs. Creola Hampton, I am always inspired by not only her story but also by the fact that these are the caliber of women who “raised” me. That reminder is always deeply moving, because I know many have not been blessed to be surrounded by grounded, sound, and successful servant leaders. From her work in communications to social justice and advocacy, Mrs. Hampton shared gems of wisdom that challenged and encouraged us all to think about how we create a legacy of social impact. We are also grateful to our incredible panelists who shared their experiences and expertise: Dominique Davis on maternal health Camesha Jones - Brandon on mental wellness Tyra Shange Owens on civic engagement Alexis Richardson on housing equity Together, they reminded us that legacy is built not in isolation, but in the ways we pour into our communities, advocate for justice, and ensure equity for the next generation. Our community partners also assisted with providing an experience for our guests. Shoutout to: Caprice Pyles Lindsay for hosting us at Hyde Park Bank. Demetria MzMetchi Brown of Sip That With MzMetchi for hosting a tasting of a new Black-owned @copajn_vodka Tatiana Williams of @tatis_floral for providing beautiful floral arrangements for our featured guest and panelists. Deja Warner-Coleman EA of @warnersacctgandtax Thank you to Mrs. Hampton, our panel, our community partners, and every woman who showed up in the room. Your presence and participation are what make these gatherings so impactful. The Black Women Professionals League looks forward to continuing this journey of building legacy and impact, together.

Y’all know I love when there’s a safe space for a group of Queens to link and talk about their careers and businesses! But, imagine my delight when my homegirl Lauren invited me to participate in the next @bwplinc event as a panelist! ☺️ To me, the idea “as strong as the woman next to me” means that, in friendships and sisterhood, we know how to support and encourage one another with grace and care. Between this year’s @bwplinc theme and the lineup, I cannot wait to hear what the other women have to share about their experiences learning and serving in the workplace. The Sistars have planned a beautiful event on Wednesday, August 13 at 6:00 pm! Hope to see you there! 💡 Missed early bird tickets?
