nobody prepares you for this part of being single 🥺

the rent. the electric bill. the car payment. the emergency fund. the retirement plan. the hotel room priced for two.

you’re carrying ALL of it. alone. and somehow still making it work.

but you also shouldn’t have to figure it all out by yourself 💛

inside the @singlesisterscircle we talk about the real stuff…the financial stress, the mental load, the things nobody talks about when you’re living solo over 40. Come find your people!

1️⃣ I’m 46 and I’ve never been married.

Sometimes I feel behind. Not because marriage defines success, but because the world treats it like it does. I remind myself that a different timeline doesn’t mean a lesser life.

2️⃣ I’ve never been engaged.

No proposal story. No ring. And yes, sometimes that stings. It’s not about the diamond. It’s about wanting to feel chosen. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

3️⃣ I’ve never lived with a man.

I’m proud of the life I’ve built on my own. But sometimes I wonder what sharing it with someone would feel like. I can love my independence and still want connection.

4️⃣ I’m not sure I’ve ever truly been in love.

I’ve cared deeply. I’ve felt attached. But that steady, safe kind of love? I’m not sure I’ve experienced it yet. And I’m still open to it.

5️⃣ I’ve never wanted kids.

For years, I questioned myself because society told me I should want them. Learning to trust what I actually wanted was freeing.

6️⃣ I still struggle with anxiety and depression sometimes.

Even as a therapist. Even after years of healing. Some days are still hard. And that doesn’t erase how far I’ve come.

7️⃣ I’m scared of ending up alone.

This one’s hard to admit. I love my life and my freedom. But sometimes that fear still shows up. And I know I’m not the only one.

Being single in your 40s can be beautiful, lonely, freeing, and scary. Sometimes all in the same week. And we don’t talk about that enough.
