I am immensely grateful to have made my professional debut as Juliet in the Romeo and Juliet USA & BDA tour this summer. I feel so honoured to have been entrusted with this beautifully complex role. This experience has been one of, if not the most, inspiring, challenging and rewarding processes.

I feel so lucky to have been surrounded by the most supportive and brilliantly talented actors and creatives, I truly couldn’t have done this without all of them!! I am forever indebted to @almostseamus , thank you for this opportunity, I have loved every minute of it!!

Juliet Capulet, it has been a dream!! I will cherish this forever xx

Students from The Berkeley Institute participated in our Bermuda Is Love Club over a ten-week period, exploring some of the most important issues affecting Bermuda today, including food insecurity, homelessness, inequality in healthcare, education and justice, and the rising cost of living.

Through a series of workshops and discussions, centered around structural inequality and access to basic needs; community street interviews; volunteering with the Seventh Day Adventist Hamilton Church Feeding Programme; and a visit to HOME, students engaged directly with the realities of homelessness, food insecurity, structural inequality, and community support systems.

The program encouraged critical thinking, empathy, and a deeper sense of social responsibility, challenging students to reflect on structural inequality and the lived experiences of others across the island.

A key success of the club was the openness of the students to engage honestly with complex issues and listen to perspectives beyond their own. Over the course of the program, they developed a stronger awareness of the structural forces shaping life in Bermuda, as well as a clearer understanding of their own capacity to contribute meaningfully to their communities.

More than a program of answers, the club was a space for listening, learning, and reflection, as an ongoing conversation about the kind of Bermuda we are building together.

Thank you to all the students for your commitment, support, and engagement throughout the ten weeks.

This is a reminder that we all share a responsibility to understand our communities and contribute to meaningful change.
